8. Do not go and eat a meal with someone who hates to spend his money. His food may be good, but do not be greedy for it.
Eat not the bread of an evil eye, And have no desire to his dainties,
Do not eat the bread of a man who thinks only about himself. Do not have a desire for his fine food.
Do not sit down and eat the bread of a tight-fisted fellow or desire any of his delicacies,
Don’t associate with evil men; don’t long for their favors and gifts. Their kindness is a trick; they want to use you as their pawn. The delicious food they serve will turn sour in your stomach, and you will vomit it and have to take back your words of appreciation for their “kindness.”
Do not dine with a stingy man or hanker for his delicacies.

Do not eat the bread of anyone who has an evil eye, neither desire his dainty foods;
Don’t eat a stingy person’s bread, and don’t desire his choice food,
Eat not the bread of him who has a hard, grudging, and envious eye, neither desire his dainty foods;
Don’t eat the food of selfish people; don’t be greedy for their fine foods.
Don’t accept a meal from a tightwad; don’t expect anything special. He’ll be as stingy with you as he is with himself; he’ll say, “Eat! Drink!” but won’t mean a word of it. His miserly serving will turn your stomach when you realize the meal’s a sham.
