But I said, "Should a man like me run away? How can I enter the temple and live? I will not go."
But I asked him, "Should a man like me run? Should someone like me run into the Temple to save his life? I won't go there!"
But I replied, "Should a man like me run away? Would someone like me flee to the temple in order to save his life? I will not go!"
But I said, "Should a man like me flee? And could one such as I go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in."
But I said, "Should a man like me run away? Or should someone like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go!"
But I replied, "Should someone in my position run from danger? Should someone in my position enter the Temple to save his life? No, I won't do it!"
And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.
I said, "Should such a man as I flee? Who is there that, being such as I, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in."
But I said, ‘I am not a man who would run away to be safe. I will not go into the temple to save my life.’
And I say, `A man such as I -- doth he flee? and who as I, that doth go in unto the temple, and live? -- I do not go in.'
But I said, “Should a man like me run away? And could a man such as I go into the house of God to save his life? I will not go in.”
Nehemiah: Why would a man in my position run for his life? Why would a person like me use the temple to save his life when such contact with God would surely kill me? I refuse to go into the temple under such circumstances.
But I replied, “Should I, the governor, run away from danger? And if I go into the Temple, not being a priest, I would forfeit my life. No, I won’t do it!”
However, I said: “Should a man like me run away? Or should a man like me go into the temple to save his life?”
But I said, “Should a man like me flee? And could one such as I go into the temple just to live? I will not go in.”
Then I said, Should such a man as I flee? And who is there as I who could go into the temple and live? I will not go in.
But I said, “Should a man like me run away? How can someone like me enter the temple and live? I will not go.”
But I said, Should such a man as I flee? And what man such as I could go into the temple [where only the priests are allowed to go] and yet live? I will not go in.
But I said, “Should a man like me run away? Should I run for my life into the Temple? I will not go.”
I said, “Why would a man like me run for cover? And why would a man like me use The Temple as a hideout? I won’t do it.”
I said, “Should a man like me flee? Should someone like me go to the temple to save my life? I won’t go!”
But I said, “Should a man like me run away? Would a man like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!”
I answered, “I'm not the kind of person that runs and hides. Do you think I would try to save my life by hiding in the Temple? I won't do it.”
And I said, Whether any man like to me, that is, trusting so to God, as I do, hath fled for such a thing, and who as I shall enter into the temple, and shall live, or be saved there? I will not enter [in] thither. (And I said, Hath any man like me, who trusteth in God, like I do, fled for such a reason, or would anyone like me, enter into the Temple to save his own life? I will not go there.)
I answered, “Why should someone like me have to run and hide in the temple to save my life? I won't go!”
But I said, “Should such a man as I flee? And what man such as I could go into the temple and live? I will not go in.”
But I said, “Should a man like me run away? Would a man like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!”
But I said, ‘Should a man like me run away? Would a man like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!’
But I replied, “Should someone like me run away? Who like me would go into the temple to save his life? I won’t go in!”
But I said, “Should a man like me flee [in fear and hide]? Should someone like me enter the temple [for sanctuary] to save his life? I will not go.”
But I said, “Should such a man as I run away? And what man such as I could go into the temple and live? I will not go in.”
My answer was: “A man like me take flight? Should a man like me enter the temple to save his life? I will not go!”
But I said, “Should a man like me flee? And who is there like me who would go into the temple to save his own life? I will not go in.”
But I said, “Should a man like me [C in his position] run away? Should I run ·for [to save] my life into the Temple [C to seek asylum; Ex. 21:13–14; 1 Kin. 1:50–53; 2:28–34; 2 Chr. 26:16–20; 27:2]? I will not go.”
But I said, “Should a man like me flee? Who in my position could go into the Temple and live? I will not go in.”
But I said, “Should such a man as I flee? And what man such as I could go into the temple and live? I will not go in.”
But I said, “Should a man like me run away? Should someone like me go into the temple just to save his life? No! I won’t go!”
And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.
I replied, “Should a man like me run away? Can a man like me go into the temple to save his life? I refuse to go in.”
But I said, ‘Should a man like me run away? Would a man like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!’
And I said, Should such a man as I flee? And who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the Heikhal to save his life? I will not go in.
But I asked, “Should a man like me run away? Would a man like me go into the temple to save his life? I won’t go.”
But I said, “Should a man like me flee? Who is there like me who would go into the temple to save his life? I would never go!”
But I said to Shemaiah, “Should a man like me run away? You know that an ordinary man like me cannot go into the Holy Place without being put to death. I will not go!”
But I said, “Should a man like me run away? Should I run into the Temple to save my life? I will not go.”
But I said, “Should a man like me run away? And would a man like me go into the temple so that he can save his life? I will not go in!”
But I said, ‘Should a man like me run away? Or should someone like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go!’
