ne commisceat stirpem generis sui vulgo gentis suae quia ego Dominus qui sanctifico eum

Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the LORD do sanctify him.

Neither shall he defile his descendants among his people: for I the LORD do sanctify him.

Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the LORD do sanctify him.

Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the Lord do sanctify him.

Nor shall he profane his posterity among his people, for I the Lord sanctify him.’ ”

This arrangement will guarantee that his future offspring will not be treated badly among his people, for I am the Eternal who makes him holy.

He may not marry a widow, nor a woman who is divorced, nor a prostitute. She must be a virgin from his own tribe, for he must not be the father of children of mixed blood—half priestly and half ordinary.”
