The Lord is Israel's God, but you're not part of Israel, so you can't take part in worshiping the Lord.” Your descendants might say that and try to make our descendants stop worshiping and obeying the Lord.

God gave you land on the other side of the Jordan River. It separates us from you people of Reuben and Gad. You cannot worship the Lord.’ So we feared that your children might make our children stop worshiping the Lord.
Yahweh has made the Jordan a border between us and you, the descendants of Reuben and Gad; you have no portion in Yahweh.’ So your children may put an end to our children worshiping Yahweh.
