You probably think the land belongs to the powerful and only the privileged have a right to it!
But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honorable man dwelt in it.
But as for the mighty man, he had the earth. The honorable man, he lived in it.
You were a powerful man, with land that belonged to you. People respected you. Your land gave you a good life.
As to the man of arm -- he hath the earth, And the accepted of face -- he dwelleth in it.
But you were a powerful and respected man owning land and living on it.
You must think only the powerful and privileged possess the land and can live in it any way they wish.
But no doubt you gave men of importance anything they wanted and let the wealthy live wherever they chose.
Should the land belong only to the powerful? Are only those who are favored allowed to dwell in it?
But the earth belongs to the mighty man, And the highly respected man inhabits it.
But the man of means had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.

But [you, Job] the man with power possessed the land, and the favored and accepted man dwelt in it.
You were a powerful man who owned land; you were honored and lived in the land.
Once again Eliphaz the Temanite took up his theme: “Are any of us strong enough to give God a hand, or smart enough to give him advice? So what if you were righteous—would God Almighty even notice? Even if you gave a perfect performance, do you think he’d applaud? Do you think it’s because he cares about your purity that he’s disciplining you, putting you on the spot? Hardly! It’s because you’re a first-class moral failure, because there’s no end to your sins. When people came to you for help, you took the shirts off their backs, exploited their helplessness. You wouldn’t so much as give a drink to the thirsty, or food, not even a scrap, to the hungry. And there you sat, strong and honored by everyone, surrounded by immense wealth! You turned poor widows away from your door; heartless, you crushed orphans. Now you’re the one trapped in terror, paralyzed by fear. Suddenly the tables have turned! How do you like living in the dark, sightless, up to your neck in flood waters?
The earth belongs to a forceful man, and a well-respected man dwells in it.
The powerful possess the land, and the favored live in it.
You used your power and your position to take over the whole land.
In the strength of thine arm (By the strength of thy arm), thou haddest the land in possession; and thou, most mighty, heldest (onto) it.
although you were rich, respected, and powerful.
The man with power possessed the land, and the favored man dwelt in it.
The powerful possess the land, and the favored live in it.
The powerful possess the land, and the favoured live in it.

“But the land is possessed by the man with power, And the favored and honorable man dwells in it.
The man with power possessed the land, and the favoured man lived in it.
As if the land belonged to the powerful, and only the privileged could dwell in it!
But the earth belongs to the powerful man, And the one who is honorable dwells on it.

Though you were a mighty man, owning land— an honored man living on it.
The man with power possessed the land, and the favored man dwelt in it.
You did it even though you were honored and powerful. You owned land and lived on it.
But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.
As a wealthy man, an owner of land, and as a man of rank, who lives on it,
The powerful possess the land, and the favoured live in it.
But as for the ish zeroa (mighty man), his is ha’aretz; and the honorable man dwelt therein.
A strong person owns the land. A privileged person lives in it.
But as for the mighty man, he possessed the earth, and the honorable man lived in it.
You have a lot of farmland, and people respect you.
You were a powerful man who owned land. You were honored and lived in the land.
And the land belongs to the man of power, and the favored lives in it.
though you were a powerful man, owning land – an honoured man, living on it.
