They were given the name of Mizpah also. For Laban said, “May the Lord watch between you and me when we are apart from each other.
The pillar was called Mizpah, which means “watch post.” Laban: May the Eternal One watch us when we are away from one another.
So it was also called “The Watchtower” (Mizpah). For Laban said, “May the Lord see to it that we keep this bargain when we are out of each other’s sight.
and also Mizpah, because he said, “May the Lord keep watch between me and you when we will no longer see each other.
and Mizpah, for he said, “May Yahweh watch between you and me when we are absent one from the other.
and Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee when we are absent one from another.
and also Mizpah, for he said, “May the Lord watch between you and me when we are out of each other’s sight.
And [the pillar or monument was called] Mizpah [watchpost], for he [Laban] said, May the Lord watch between you and me when we are absent and hidden one from another.
It was also called Mizpah, because Laban said, “Let the Lord watch over us while we are separated from each other.
Laban said, “This monument of stones will be a witness, beginning now, between you and me.” (That’s why it is called Galeed—Witness Monument.) It is also called Mizpah (Watchtower) because Laban said, “God keep watch between you and me when we are out of each other’s sight. If you mistreat my daughters or take other wives when there’s no one around to see you, God will see you and stand witness between us.”
and Mizpah, for he also said, “May the Lord watch between me and you, when we are absent one from another.
and the pillar Mizpah, for he said, “The Lord watch between you and me, when we are absent one from the other.
Laban also said, “May the Lord keep an eye on us while we are separated from each other.” So the place was also named Mizpah.
And Laban added, The Lord behold, and deem betwixt us, when we shall go away from you;
Laban also said, “This pile of rocks means that the Lord will watch us both while we are apart from each other.” So the place was also named Mizpah.
