quod si genuerit filium qui videns omnia peccata patris sui quae fecit timuerit et non fecerit simile eis
Now, see, if he beget a son, that sees all his father's sins which he has done, and considers, and does not such like,
Now, lo, if he begets a son, that sees all his father's sins which he has done, and considers, and does not the same,
Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father’s sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
“If, however, he begets a son Who sees all the sins which his father has done, And considers but does not do likewise;
“Now, lo, if he beget a son who seeth all his father’s sins which he hath done, and considereth and doeth not the like,
Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins, which he hath done, and feareth, and doeth not such like;
But lo, if he have begotten a son that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like:
But if he beget a son, who, seeing all his father's sine, which he hath done, is afraid, and shall not do the like to them :
Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins, which he hath done, and feareth, and doth not such like,
“Now suppose this man fathers a son who sees all the sins that his father has done; he sees, and does not do likewise:
"But suppose this person has a son. The son sees all the sins that his father does. He is afraid, so he doesn't do such things.
Now suppose he has a son who sees all the sins his father has committed, and though he sees them, he does not do likewise.
"Now suppose that he produced a son who practiced all of his father's sins, but then that son began to fear me and stopped doing all of these things.
"But suppose he in turn has a son who notices all the sins his father commits, considers them, and does not follow his father's example.
"Now behold, he has a son who has observed all his father's sins which he committed, and observing does not do likewise.
"But suppose this son has a son who sees all the sins his father commits, and though he sees them, he does not do such things:
"But suppose that sinful son, in turn, has a son who sees his father's wickedness and decides against that kind of life.
Now lo, if he begetteth a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
Now, behold, if he fathers a son, who sees all his father's sins, which he has done, and fears, and does not such like;
But this wicked man might have a son himself. The son sees all the sins that his father has done. He thinks about them. Then he decides that he will not live as his father has lived.
And -- lo, he hath begotten a son, And he seeth all the sins of his father, That he hath done, and he feareth, And doth not do like them,
“Now this man may have a son who has seen all the sins his father has done, but does not do the same.
Now, suppose the wicked son has a son of his own, and this son watches his father’s vile lifestyle and chooses not to do as his father has done:
“But if this sinful man has, in turn, a son who sees all his father’s wickedness, so that he fears God and decides against that kind of life;
But suppose this man has a son who observes all the sins his father has committed, and even though he sees them, he refuses to follow in his footsteps:
“Now behold, he has a son who has seen all his father’s sins which he has done. And he saw this but does not do likewise.
But if he begets a son that sees all his father’s sins which he has done and seeing them, does not do according to them,
“Now suppose he has a son who sees all the sins his father has committed, and though he sees them, he does not do likewise.
But if this wicked man begets a son who sees all the sins which his father has committed, and considers and fears [God] and does not do like his father,
“Now suppose this son has a son who has seen all his father’s sins, but after seeing them does not do those things.
“Now look: Suppose that this child has a child who sees all the sins done by his parent. The child sees them, but doesn’t follow in the parent’s footsteps— doesn’t eat at the pagan shrines, doesn’t worship the popular idols of Israel, doesn’t seduce his neighbor’s spouse, doesn’t bully anyone, doesn’t refuse to loan money, doesn’t steal, doesn’t refuse food to the hungry, doesn’t refuse to give clothes to the ill-clad, doesn’t live by impulse and greed, doesn’t exploit the poor. He does what I say; he performs my laws and lives by my statutes. “This person will not die for the sins of the parent; he will live truly and well. But the parent will die for what the parent did, for the sins of— oppressing the weak, robbing brothers and sisters, doing what is dead wrong in the community.
But if that son himself fathers a son who sees all the sins that his father has committed, and though he sees, he does not do likewise—
But if this man has a son who sees all the sins that his father has done, considers, and does not do likewise,
“Now suppose this second man has a son. He sees all the sins his father practiced, but does not follow his example.
That if he begetteth a son, which seeth all the sins of his father, which he did, and dreadeth, and doeth none like those; (And if he begetteth a son, who seeth all his father’s sins, which he did, and feareth, and doeth none like them;)
But suppose this evil man has a son who sees his father do these things and refuses to act like him.
“But if this man begets a son who sees all the sins which his father has done, and fears, and does not do likewise,
But if this son has a son who sees all the sins that his father has done, considers, and does not do likewise,
But if this man has a son who sees all the sins that his father has done, considers, and does not do likewise,
But suppose he has a child who sees all the sins that his father committed. He becomes alarmed and doesn’t do them.
“Now behold, if this [wicked] man has a son who has observed all the sins which his father committed, and considers [thoughtfully what he has observed] and does not do like his father:
“Now suppose this man fathers a son who sees all the sins that his father has done; he sees, and does not do likewise:
But, in turn, if he begets a son who sees all the sins his father commits, yet fears and does not imitate him—
“Now behold, he has fathered a son who saw all his father’s sins which he committed, but he has seen them and does not do likewise.
“Now suppose this son has a son who has seen all his father’s sins, but after seeing them does not do those things.
“Now behold, suppose he fathers a son who sees all his father’s sins that he committed, and observing, does not do likewise.
“But if this man begets a son who sees all the sins which his father has done, and fears, and does not do likewise,
“But suppose this son has a son of his own. And the son sees all the sins his father commits. He sees them, but he does not do them.
Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father’s sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like,
“But now suppose he has a son who sees all the sins his father committed, thinks about them, and behaves differently.
But if this man has a son who sees all the sins that his father has done, considers, and does not do likewise,
Now, hinei, if he father a ben, that seeth all the chattot aviv which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not like such,
“But suppose this person has a son. The son sees all the sins that his father does. He is afraid, so he doesn’t do such things.
Now if he begets a son who sees all his father’s sins which he has done, and considering does not do likewise:
“Now, that evil son might also have a son. But this son sees the bad things his father did, and he refuses to live as his father did. He treats people fairly.
“But this son might have a son who has seen the sins his father did. But after seeing them, he does not do those things.
“And look! He has a son, and he sees all of the sin of his father that he did, and he sees it, but he does not do it.
‘But suppose this son has a son who sees all the sins his father commits, and though he sees them, he does not do such things:
