If he stands there defiant and says, “I don’t want her,” his sister-in-law is to pull his sandal off his foot, spit in his face, and say, “This is what happens to the man who refuses to build up the family of his brother—his name in Israel will be Family-No-Sandal.”
Then the name that he will go by in Israel is “the house of a man whose sandal was pulled off.”

And shmo shall be called in Yisroel, The bais of him that hath his sandal loosed.
Then in Israel his family will be called the Family of the Man Without a Sandal.
His name will be called in Israel, “The house of him who has his sandal removed.”
From then on, the brother’s family will be known in Israel as, ‘the family of the man whose sandal was removed.’
Then that man’s family shall be known in Israel as the Family of the Unsandaled.
And his family shall be called in Israel, ‘The house where the sandal was pulled off.’
That man’s line shall be known in Israel as The Family of the Unsandalled.
