8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
8:3  For what the law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, · God, by sending · his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as a sin offering, condemned · sin in the flesh,
8:4  so that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
8:5  For those who live according to the flesh have set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
8:6  To set the mind on the flesh leads to death, but to set the · mind on the Spirit brings life and peace,
8:7  because the mind set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to the law of God; in fact, it is not even able to do so.
8:8  Those · controlled by the flesh are not able to please God.
8:9  You, however, are not controlled by the flesh but by the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. · Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
8:10  But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the · Spirit is life because of righteousness.
8:11  But if the Spirit of him who raised · Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to · your mortal bodies through his Spirit who lives in you.
8:12  So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh,
8:13  for if you live according to the flesh, you will certainly die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
8:14  For it is those who are led by the Spirit of God who are the sons of God.
8:15  For you did not receive the spirit of slavery leading back to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption. By him we cry out, “Abba! · Father!”
8:16  The Spirit himself bears witness with · our spirit that we are children of God,
8:17  and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.
8:18  For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us.
8:19  · For the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.
8:20  For the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own choosing, but because of him who subjected it, in hope
8:21  that · the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay into the glorious freedom · of the children of God.
8:22  For we know that the entire creation has been groaning and suffering together up to the present hour.
8:23  And not only this, but · we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we · eagerly await our adoption, the redemption of our bodies.
8:24  For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope, for who hopes for what he sees?
8:25  But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
8:26  In the same way, · · the Spirit helps us in our weakness; · for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
8:27  · And God, who searches our hearts, knows the desire of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
8:28  And we know that all things work together for good for those who love · God, for those who are called according to his purpose,
8:29  because those he foreknew he also predestined to become conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
8:30  And those he predestined, these he also called; and those he called, these he also justified; and those he justified, these he also glorified.
8:31  What then shall we say in response to these things? If · God is for us, who can be against us?
8:32  He who did not spare · his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us · all things?
8:33  Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
8:34  Who is it that condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died—and more than that, he was raised—who · is at the right hand of God, who also is interceding for us.
8:35  Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
8:36  As it is written, “For your sake we face death all · day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
8:37  No, in all these things we are winning a most glorious victory through him who loved us.
8:38  For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
8:39  nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God · in Christ Jesus · our Lord.
