12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present · your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God—this is a reasonable act of worship for you.
12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern the will of God, what is · good and acceptable and perfect.
12:3 For by the grace · given to me I say to every one who is among you that he should not think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think with · sober judgment, as God has assigned to each · a measure of faith.
12:4 For as in our one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function,
12:5 so we who are many are one body in Christ, · and individually members who belong to one another,
12:6 having · gifts that differ according to the grace · given to us. If your gift is prophecy, then prophesy in · proportion to your faith;
12:7 if your gift is service, use it to · serve; if you are a · teacher, then · teach;
12:8 if you have the gift of encouragement, then use it to · encourage; if you are able · to give, give generously; if your gift is · leadership, lead with zeal; if it is · showing mercy, then do it with cheerfulness.
12:9 Let · love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
12:10 Love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing · honor;
12:11 do not lag in zeal; be enthusiastic in spirit; serve the Lord;
12:12 rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, devote yourself to prayer;
12:13 contribute to the needs of the saints, seek to show · hospitality.
12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
12:16 Live · in harmony with one another; do not be · haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
12:17 Repay no one evil for evil; give careful thought to what is good in the sight of all people.
12:18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all people.
12:19 Never avenge yourselves, dear friends, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
12:20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, · feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on · his head.”
12:21 Do not be overcome by · evil, but overcome evil with · good. ·
