2:1  “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: The one who holds the seven stars in · his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands, · has this to say:
2:2  I know · your works, · your toil and · your patient endurance, and that you cannot put up with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles (but are not) and found them to be false.
2:3  I also know that you have demonstrated your patience and borne hardship for · my name’s sake, and have not grown weary.
2:4  But I do have this against you, that you have left · your first love! ·
2:5  Therefore remember from where you have fallen; · repent and do the works you did at first. If · not, I will come to you and remove · your lampstand from · its place, unless you repent.
2:6  But you do have this: you hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
2:7  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
2:8  · “To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: The one who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life, has this to say:
2:9  I know your · affliction and your poverty (but you are rich), and the slander against you by those who call themselves Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
2:10  Do not fear what you are about to suffer. The devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and you will have affliction for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
2:11  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. The one who conquers will not be harmed by the second death. ·
2:12  · “To the angel of the church in Pergamum write: The one who has the sharp two-edged sword · · has this to say:
2:13  I know where you live, where · Satan has his throne. Yet you are holding fast to · my name, and you did not deny your faith in me even in the days of Antipas · my faithful witness, · who was put to death in your city where · Satan lives.
2:14  But I have several things against you, because you have among you those who follow the teaching of Balaam, the one who instructed · Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel so they would eat food sacrificed to idols and commit sexual immorality.
2:15  So also do you have those who follow the teaching of the Nicolaitans.
2:16  Therefore repent! Otherwise, · I will come to you without delay and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
2:17  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna. · And I will give him a white stone, and on that stone will be written a new name which no one can understand except the one who receives it.
2:18  · “To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: The Son of God, who has · eyes like a flame of fire and · whose feet are like burnished bronze, has this to say:
2:19  I know your · works, · · your love and · faith and · service and · steadfast endurance, and that · your recent works · are greater than the first.
2:20  But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing · my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
2:21  · I have given her time to repent, but she is unwilling to repent of · her sexual immorality.
2:22  Beware, I will throw her onto a bed of suffering, and those who commit adultery with her into great affliction, unless they repent of · her ways.
2:23  · I will kill · her children with a fatal disease. Then all the churches will understand that I am the one who searches minds and hearts; and I will give to each of you according to · your works.
2:24  But to the rest of you · in Thyatira, who do not follow · this teaching (who have not learned ‘the deep things of Satan,’ as they call them), to you I say, I lay on you no other burden,
2:25  only hold fast to what you have until I come.
2:26  As for the one who conquers, · who keeps my works until the end, · to him I will give authority over the nations,
2:27  and he will rule them with a rod of iron, as when · earthen pots · are broken to pieces,
2:28  even as I myself have received authority from · my Father. I will also give him the morning star. ·
2:29  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.
