14:1 Then I looked, and behold, I saw a Lamb standing on · Mount Zion; and with him were one hundred and forty-four thousand who had · his name and · his Father’s name · written on · their foreheads.
14:2 And I heard a sound from · heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder. · The sound I heard was like the sound of harpists playing on · their harps,
14:3 and they were singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. · No one was able to learn the song except the one hundred and forty-four thousand who had been redeemed from the earth.
14:4 These are the ones who have not been defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from the human race as firstfruits for God and for the Lamb,
14:5 and in · their mouth no lie was found; they are blameless.
14:6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—· to every nation, · tribe, · language, and people.
14:7 And he said with a loud voice, “Fear · God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made · heaven and · earth, · the sea and the springs of water.”
14:8 Then another angel, a second, followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!—she who has made all nations drink of the wine of her passionate · immorality.” ·
14:9 Then another angel, a third, followed them, declaring in a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and · his image, and receives a mark on · his forehead or on · his hand,
14:10 he also will drink of the wine of God’s wrath, · · poured full strength into the cup of his wrath, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
14:11 And the smoke from their torture will go up forever and ever, and those who worship the beast and his image will have no relief day or night, · along with anyone who receives the mark of his name.”
14:12 This calls for · endurance on the part of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and hold fast to their faith in Jesus.
14:13 And I heard a voice from · heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes indeed!” says the Spirit, “so they can rest from · their labors, · because their deeds will follow them!”
14:14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man. He had a golden crown on · his head and a sharp sickle in · his hand.
14:15 Then another angel came out of the temple, calling with a loud voice to the one who was sitting on the cloud, “Thrust in · your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe.”
14:16 So the one who sat on the cloud swung · his sickle across the earth, and the earth was reaped.
14:17 Then another angel came out of the temple · in · heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.
14:18 Then another angel, the one who had authority over the fire, came out from the altar and called with a loud voice to the angel who had the sharp sickle, · “Thrust in your · sharp sickle · and gather the clusters of grapes from the vine of the earth, for its grapes are ripe.” ·
14:19 So the angel swung · his sickle across the earth and gathered the grape harvest of the earth and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. ·
14:20 Then the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood poured out from the winepress, rising to the height of horses’ bridles · for a distance of about two hundred miles.
