3:1 · Jesus entered again into a synagogue, and a man with a withered · hand was there.
3:2 And they were watching him carefully to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath, so they could accuse him.
3:3 And he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Get up and step · forward.”
3:4 And he said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” But they remained silent.
3:5 And after looking around at them in anger, grieved at the hardness of their heart, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched out his hand and it was restored. ·
3:6 So the Pharisees went out immediately and began plotting with · Herodians against him, as to how they might do away with him.
3:7 But · Jesus withdrew with · his disciples to the lake, and there followed a large crowd from · Galilee and from · Judea,
3:8 and from Jerusalem, and from · Idumea and beyond the Jordan and around Tyre and Sidon a large crowd came to him when they heard about the things he had done.
3:9 And he told · his disciples to make ready a small boat for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him.
3:10 For he had healed many, so that all who had diseases were pressing around him so they could touch him.
3:11 And the unclean spirits, · whenever they saw him, fell down before him and cried out, saying, “You are the Son of God!”
3:12 But he warned them repeatedly not to make him known.
3:13 And he went up into the mountain and called those whom he himself wanted, and they came to him.
3:14 And he appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and so that he might send them out to preach
3:20 Then Jesus went to his house, and again a crowd gathered, so that they were not even able to eat a meal.
3:21 And when his family heard this, they went out to take charge of him, for people were saying, “He is out of his mind.”
3:22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He has Beelzebul in him,” and “By the prince of demons he drives out · demons.”
3:23 So he called them together and began speaking to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan?
3:24 · If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. ·
3:25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot · stand.
3:26 And if · Satan rises against himself and is divided, he cannot stand but is coming to an end.
3:27 But no one can enter the house of the strong man and carry off · his possessions unless first he ties up the strong man; · then he can rob · his house.
3:28 “I tell you the truth, all things will be forgiven the sons of men, · all sinful behavior and · whatever blasphemies they may utter;
3:29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit · will not have forgiveness for all time, but is guilty of an eternal sin”
3:31 Then · his mother and · his brothers came, and standing outside they sent word to him, calling for him.
3:32 And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, “Look, · your mother and · your brothers are outside looking for you.”
3:33 And he responded to them, saying, “Who is · my mother and who are · my brothers?”
3:34 And looking around at those who were sitting around him in a circle, he said, “Here are · my mother and · my brothers!
3:35 For whoever does the will of God, this one is my brother and my sister and my mother.”
