14:1 And he said to his disciples, Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, and believe in me.
14:2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
14:3 And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.
14:4 And where I go, you know; and the way, you know.
14:5 Thomas said to him, Lord, we do not know where you are going. How then is it possible for us to know the way?
14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. And no one comes to the Father except by me.
14:7 If you have known me, you have known my Father also. And now you know him, and have seen him.
14:8 Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.
14:9 Jesus said to him, Have I been so long a time with you, and yet you have not known me? Philip, he who has seen me has seen the Father. And how do you say then, Show us the Father?
14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you, I do not speak of myself, but the Father who dwells in me is he who does the works.
14:11 Believe me, that I am in the Father, and the Father in me. At the least, believe me for the very works’ sake.
14:12 Truly truly I say to you, He who believes on me, the works that I do, he also will do; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father.
14:13 And whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified by the Son.
14:14 If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.
14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, so that he may be with you forever,
14:17 which is the Spirit of Truth – whom the world cannot receive, because the world neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him. For he dwells with you and shall be in you.
14:18 I will not leave you comfortless, but will come to you.
14:19 Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more. But you will see me. For I live, and you will live.
14:20 That day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
14:21 He who has my commandments and keeps them, that is he who loves me. And he who loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will show my own self to him.
14:22 Judas said to him (not Judas Iscariot), Lord, what is the reason that you will show yourself to us, and not to the world?
14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, If a person loves me and will keep my sayings, my Father also will love him, and we will come to him and will dwell with him.
14:24 He who does not love me does not keep my sayings. And the words that you hear are not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.
14:25 This I have spoken to you being yet present with you.
14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit (whom my Father will send in my name), he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have told you.
14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, and do not fear.
14:28 You have heard how I said to you, I am going away and coming again to you. If you loved me, you would indeed rejoice because I said I am going to the Father. For the Father is greater than I.
14:29 And now I have told you before it comes, so that when it has come to pass, you may believe.
14:30 Hereafter I will not speak many words to you. For the ruler of this world comes. And he has nothing in me,
14:31 but so that the world may know that I love the Father, therefore as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go from here.
