13:2 Do not neglect · hospitality to strangers, for by this means some have entertained angels without knowing it.
13:3 Continue to remember those in prison, as though you were in prison with them, and those who are being mistreated, as though · you yourself were suffering bodily.
13:4 Marriage must be honored · by everyone and the marriage bed must be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and the adulterers. ·
13:5 Your conduct must be free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for God himself has said, “I will never leave you; never will I forsake you.”
13:6 So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
13:7 Continue to remember · your leaders, those who spoke God’s message to you; · · reflect on the outcome of their · way of life, and imitate their faith.
13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for all time!
13:9 Do not be swept off your feet by all sorts of strange teachings, · for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, with which their adherents are not benefited.
13:10 We have an altar from which those who serve in the tabernacle do not have the right to eat.
13:11 For while the blood of those animals whose blood is brought into the Most Holy Place by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin, their · bodies are burned outside the camp.
13:12 So Jesus also suffered outside the city gate in order to sanctify the people through · his own blood.
13:13 So then, let us go to him outside the camp, bearing the reproach he bore.
13:14 For here we have no permanent city, but we are looking forward to the city that is to come.
13:15 Through him, therefore, let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is to say, the fruit of lips acknowledging · his name.
13:16 And do not neglect · doing good and sharing with others, for with sacrifices like that God is pleased. ·
13:17 Continue to obey · your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over · your souls as those who must give an account. Let them do this with joy, and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
13:18 Continue to pray for us, for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, desiring to conduct ourselves honorably in every way.
13:19 I urge you to do this more than ever · so that I may be restored to you sooner.
13:20 And may the God of peace, who, by the blood of the eternal covenant, brought up from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, · · our Lord Jesus,
13:21 make you complete with everything good to do · his will, accomplishing in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be · glory for all time. · Amen.
13:22 I appeal to · you, brothers, bear with my word of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you briefly.
13:23 Know that · our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives soon, I will visit you with him.
13:24 Greet all · your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you. ·
