| 98:1 | | Those who disbelieved among the people of the Book and among the polytheists would not change until they had received clear evidence. | | 98:2 | | [They wanted] a messenger from Allah, reciting Scriptures, kept pure and holy. | | 98:3 | | In them are valuable commandments. | | 98:4 | | The people of the Book did not divide into sects until after they had received clear evidence. | | 98:5 | | They had been commanded no more than this: Worship Allah with sincere devotion in submission to Him, be faithful in establishing routine prayer, and contribute regularly to charity. That is the religion, plain and simple! | | 98:6 | | Those who [continue to] disbelieve among the people of the Book and among the polytheists will be in Hell’s fire wherein they will dwell forever. They are the worst part of creation! | | 98:7 | | Those who have faith and perform righteous deeds are the best of creation. | | 98:8 | | Their reward is with their Lord. [They will have] gardens of eternity, beneath which rivers flow. They will dwell there forever. Allah will be pleased with them, and they will be pleased with Him. All this is for those who fear their Lord. |
