| 85:1 | | By the sky full of constellations, | | 85:2 | | by the promised Day, | | 85:3 | | by a witness and what is witnessed. | | 85:4 | | Cursed are the diggers of the trench, | | 85:5 | | who lit the well-fuelled fire; | | 85:6 | | when they sat around it, | | 85:7 | | watching what they were doing to the believers. | | 85:8 | | They punished them because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, | | 85:9 | | the One Who controls all things in the Heavens and the Earth, and Allah is the witness of everything. | | 85:10 | | The persecutors of the believing men and women didn’t repent, so they will be punished in Hell, in the Burning Flames | | 85:11 | | The believers who were righteous will have gardens of Paradise, beneath which rivers flow. That will be the great achievement. | | 85:12 | | Your Lord’s punishment will be severely harsh. | | 85:13 | | He started the creation and will reproduce it once more, | | 85:14 | | He is the Forgiving, the most Loving, | | 85:15 | | Possessor of the Majestic Throne, | | 85:16 | | the Most Able to carry out what He pleases. | | 85:17 | | Has the story of the armies reached you? | | 85:18 | | About the Pharaoh and Thamud? | | 85:19 | | Yet the disbelievers are still in denial, | | 85:20 | | while Allah surrounds them from all sides. | | 85:21 | | But this is a Majestic reading, | | 85:22 | | in the Protected Tablet |
