| 85:1 | | By the heaven with its zodiacal signs | | 85:2 | | And by the Promised Day | | 85:3 | | And by the witnesses and the witnessed | | 85:4 | | Self-destroyed were the owners of the pit | | 85:5 | | The fire of which was supplied with abundant fuel | | 85:6 | | Behold, they sat over it | | 85:7 | | And they witnessed all they were doing against the believers | | 85:8 | | And they mistreated them only for their belief in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy | | 85:9 | | Whose are the kingdoms of the heavens and the earth; for Allah is Witness over all | | 85:10 | | Verily, those who persecute (or mislead or tempt) the believers, men and women, and then do not repent, for them is the penalty of Hell: they will have the torment of the burning Fire | | 85:11 | | Verily, those who believe and do right, for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow: that is the great bliss | | 85:12 | | Verily, strong is the power of your Lord | | 85:13 | | Verily, it is He who creates and restores | | 85:14 | | And He is the Forgiving, the Loving | | 85:15 | | The Lord of the Glorious Throne | | 85:16 | | The Doer of what He will | | 85:17 | | Has there come to you the story of the Host | | 85:18 | | Of Pharaoh and the Thamud | | 85:19 | | Yet the unbelievers persist in rejecting (the truth) | | 85:20 | | But Allah is behind them - encompassing | | 85:21 | | Nay, this is a glorious Quran | | 85:22 | | (Inscribed) in a Preserved Tablet |
