| 83:1 | | Woe unto those who give short measure |
| 83:2 | | Those who, when they take by measure from other people, take it full |
| 83:3 | | But when they give by measure to others or weigh to them, they give them less |
| 83:4 | | Do not such people know that they will be raised agai |
| 83:5 | | To witness the judgment of a mighty day |
| 83:6 | | The day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds |
| 83:7 | | Nay, the record of the wicked is in Sijjin |
| 83:8 | | And what should make thee know what Sijjin is |
| 83:9 | | It is a written Book since eternity |
| 83:10 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject |
| 83:11 | | Who deny the Day of Judgment |
| 83:12 | | And none denies it save every sinful transgressor |
| 83:13 | | Who, when Our Signs are recited unto him, say, `Tales of the ancient ! |
| 83:14 | | Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts |
| 83:15 | | Nay, they will, surely, be debarred from seeing their Lord on that day |
| 83:16 | | Then, verily, they will burn in Hell |
| 83:17 | | Then it will be said to them, `This is what you used to reject. |
| 83:18 | | Nay, but the record of the righteous is, surely, in 'Illiyun |
| 83:19 | | And what should make thee know what `Illiyyun is |
| 83:20 | | It is a written Book |
| 83:21 | | The chosen ones of God will witness it |
| 83:22 | | Surely, the righteous will be in bliss |
| 83:23 | | Seated on couches, looking at everything |
| 83:24 | | Thou wilt find in their faces the freshness of bliss |
| 83:25 | | They will be given to drink of a pure beverage, sealed |
| 83:26 | | The sealing of it will be with musk - for this let the aspirants aspire |
| 83:27 | | And it will be tempered with the water of Tasnim |
| 83:28 | | A spring of which the chosen ones will drink |
| 83:29 | | Those who were guilty used to laugh at those who believed |
| 83:30 | | And when they passed by them, they winked at one another |
| 83:31 | | And when they returned to their families they returned exulting |
| 83:32 | | And when they saw them they said, `These, indeed, have gone astray. |
| 83:33 | | But they were not sent as keepers over them |
| 83:34 | | This day, then, it is the believers who will laugh at the disbelievers |
| 83:35 | | Seated on couches, gazing around |
| 83:36 | | They will say to one another, `Are not the disbelievers fully requited for what they used to do? |
