| | Dr. Munir Munshey rendition of Surah The Emissaries, Winds Sent Forth(al-Mursalat) --- |
---|
77:1 | | (I swear by the wind) that is sent in waves, and buffets gently |
77:2 | | And the violent wind that raises storms |
77:3 | | Then, scatters things around |
77:4 | | And splits them asunder |
77:5 | | And instills (in man) the remembrance (of Allah) |
77:6 | | As a plea, and as a warning |
77:7 | | What you are being promised, (the Day of Decision), will very surely occur |
77:8 | | (It will occur) when the stars lose their luster |
77:9 | | The sky bursts asunder |
77:10 | | The mountains (blow up and) crumble |
77:11 | | And when all the messengers are summoned (to bear witness) |
77:12 | | Until what day has it been put off |
77:13 | | Till the Day of Decision |
77:14 | | And what do you suppose is the Day of Decision |
77:15 | | Misery that day is for those who (dispute and) deny (the truth) |
77:16 | | Did We not wipe out the unbelievers of earlier times |
77:17 | | We will make (the unbelievers of) the later generations follow (the same fate as that of) the earlier ones |
77:18 | | This is what We do to the criminals |
77:19 | | Misery that day is for those who (dispute and) deny (the truth) |
77:20 | | Did We not create you from a (tiny) drop of filthy fluid |
77:21 | | Which We lodged in a secure and stable setting |
77:22 | | For a known period |
77:23 | | This is what We destined! How very excellent is Our destiny |
77:24 | | Misery that day is for those who (dispute and) deny (the truth) |
77:25 | | Did We not appoint the earth to accommodate |
77:26 | | The living, and the dead |
77:27 | | And on the earth, We placed the high mountains; and We gave you sweet water to drink |
77:28 | | Misery that day is for those who (dispute and) deny (the truth) |
77:29 | | (They would be told), "Proceed now and enter (hell), the very thing you used to deny (so vehemently)." |
77:30 | | "Proceed under the three-pronged shadow." |
77:31 | | It neither provides the cool shade, nor lends protection against the (fierce) flames |
77:32 | | Indeed, it will hurl sparks as tall as a (lofty) palace |
77:33 | | Which would look like yellow camels |
77:34 | | Misery that day is for those who (dispute and) deny (the truth) |
77:35 | | Nothing will they say that day |
77:36 | | Nor would they be allowed to offer excuses (and explanations) |
77:37 | | Misery that day is for those who (dispute and) deny (the truth) |
77:38 | | "This is the Day of Decision. (Today) We have assembled all of you together, along with (all) the earlier generations." |
77:39 | | "If you have a trick left (up your sleeves), play it now! Outwit Me!" |
77:40 | | Misery that day is for those who (dispute and) deny (the truth) |
77:41 | | The pious ones (that day) would be amidst cool shades, fountains |
77:42 | | And fruits of their choice |
77:43 | | "Eat and drink, and relish your rewards! (It is yours) in return for what you used to do." |
77:44 | | This is really how We reward the righteous |
77:45 | | Misery that day is for those who (dispute and) deny (the truth) |
77:46 | | (Oh unbelievers)! Eat and enjoy (your possessions) just a little while longer. Indeed, you are the criminals |
77:47 | | Misery that day is for those who (dispute and) deny (the truth) |
77:48 | | When asked to kneel (before their Lord), they refused |
77:49 | | Misery that day is for those who (dispute and) deny (the truth) |
77:50 | | So, after this (Qur´an), is there any other discourse they can (accept and) believe |
