| 77:1 | | By those who send forth to spread goodness |
| 77:2 | | Then they push on with a forceful pushing |
| 77:3 | | And by those who spread the Truth, a good spreading |
| 77:4 | | Then they distinguish fully between good and evil |
| 77:5 | | Then they carry the Exhortation far and wide |
| 77:6 | | To excuse some and warn others |
| 77:7 | | Verily, that which you are promised must come to pass |
| 77:8 | | So when the stars are made to lose their light |
| 77:9 | | And when the heaven is rent asunder |
| 77:10 | | And when the mountains are blown away like dust |
| 77:11 | | And when the Messengers are made to appear at the appointed time |
| 77:12 | | To what day have these portents been deferred |
| 77:13 | | To the Day of Decision |
| 77:14 | | And what should make thee know what the Day of Decision is |
| 77:15 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject the Truth |
| 77:16 | | Did WE not destroy the earlier peoples |
| 77:17 | | WE will now cause the later ones to follow them |
| 77:18 | | Thus do WE deal with the guilty |
| 77:19 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject the Truth |
| 77:20 | | Did WE not create you from an insignificant fluid |
| 77:21 | | And placed it in a safe resting place |
| 77:22 | | For a known measure of time |
| 77:23 | | Thus did WE determine; and how excellent Determiner are WE |
| 77:24 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject the Truth |
| 77:25 | | Have WE not made the earth so as to hol |
| 77:26 | | The living and the dead |
| 77:27 | | And WE placed therein high mountains, and gave you sweet water to drink |
| 77:28 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject the Truth |
| 77:29 | | They will be commanded: `Now move on towards that which you treated as a lie |
| 77:30 | | `Aye, move on towards a three-pronged shadow |
| 77:31 | | `Neither affording shade, nor protecting from the blame. |
| 77:32 | | It throws up sparks like huge castles |
| 77:33 | | As if they were tawny camels |
| 77:34 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject the Truth |
| 77:35 | | This is a day when they shall not be able to speak |
| 77:36 | | Nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses |
| 77:37 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject the Truth |
| 77:38 | | This is the Day of Decision. WE have gathered you and all the earlier peoples together |
| 77:39 | | `If now you have any stratagem, try your stratagem against me. |
| 77:40 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject the Truth |
| 77:41 | | The righteous will be in the midst of shades and springs |
| 77:42 | | And fruits such as they will desire |
| 77:43 | | It will be said to them, `Eat and drink pleasantly as a reward for what you did' |
| 77:44 | | Thus, surely, do WE reward those who do good |
| 77:45 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject the Truth |
| 77:46 | | Eat and enjoy yourselves for a little while in this world, O rejectors of Truth, surely, you are the guilty ones. |
| 77:47 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject the Truth |
| 77:48 | | And when it is said unto them, `Bow down,' they bow not down |
| 77:49 | | Woe on that day unto those who reject the Truth |
| 77:50 | | In what discourse then, after this, will they believe |
