| (of the) one whom | | alladhī | | الَّذِي | | ا ل ل ذ ى | |
| We gave [him] | | ātaynāhu | | ءَاتَيْنَاهُ | | ا ت ى | |
| Our Verses, | | āyātinā | | ءَايَاتِنَا | | ا ى ا | |
| but he detached | | fa-insalakha | | فَانْسَلَخَ | | س ل خ | |
| [from] them, | | min'hā | | مِنْهَا | | م ن | |
| so followed him | | fa-atbaʿahu | | فَأَتْبَعَهُ | | ت ب ع | |
| the Shaitaan | | l-shayṭānu | | الشَّيْطَانُ | | ش ط ن | |
| and he became | | fakāna | | فَكَانَ | | ك و ن | |
| those gone astray. | | l-ghāwīna | | الْغَاوِينَ | | غ و ى | |
