| the darkness[es] | | ẓulumāti | | ظُلُمَاتِ | | ظ ل م | |
| (of) the land | | l-bari | | الْبَرِّ | | ب ر ر | |
| and the sea. | | wal-baḥri | | وَالْبَحْرِ | | ب ح ر | |
| We have made clear | | faṣṣalnā | | فَصَّلْنَا | | ف ص ل | |
| the Signs | | l-āyāti | | الْءَايَاتِ | | ا ى ا | |
| for a people | | liqawmin | | لِقَوْمٍ | | ق و م | |
| (who) know. | | yaʿlamūna | | يَعْلَمُونَ | | ع ل م | |
