| | A.L. Bilal Muhammad et al (2018) rendition of Surah Ya Sin, Ya-Seen(Ya Sin) --- |
---|
36:1 | | Yaa, Siin |
36:2 | | By the Quran, full of wisdom |
36:3 | | You are indeed one of the messengers |
36:4 | | On a straight way |
36:5 | | It is a revelation sent down by Him, the Exalted in Might, the Merciful Redeemer |
36:6 | | That you may advise a people whose parents had received no advice, and who therefore remain heedless |
36:7 | | The word is proved true against the greater part of them, for they do not believe |
36:8 | | We have put chains around their necks, up to their chins, so that their heads are forced up |
36:9 | | And We have put bars in front of them and bars behind them, and further, We have covered them up, so that they cannot see |
36:10 | | It is the same to them whether you warn them or you do not warn them, they will not believe |
36:11 | | You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Merciful Benefactor, unseen. Give them good news of forgiveness, and of a reward most generous |
36:12 | | Indeed We will give life to the dead, and We record what they send forward and what they leave behind, and of all things We have taken account in a clear book |
36:13 | | Give them by way of a parable the story of the companions of the city. Behold, there came messengers to it |
36:14 | | When We sent to them two messengers they rejected them, so We reinforced them with a third. They said, “Truly we have been sent on a mission to you. |
36:15 | | They said, “You are only human like us, and God, the Merciful Benefactor, sends no sort of revelation. You do nothing but lie. |
36:16 | | They said, “Our Lord knows that we have been sent on a mission to you |
36:17 | | “And our duty is only to proclaim the message clearly. |
36:18 | | They said, “For us, we predict an evil omen from you. If you desist not, we will certainly stone you, indeed a terrible punishment will be inflicted on you by us. |
36:19 | | They said, “Your evil omens are with you. Are you not then advised? No, but you are a people transgressing all bounds. |
36:20 | | Then there came running from the farthest part of the city, a person announcing, “O my people, follow the messengers |
36:21 | | “Follow those who ask no reward of you, and who have themselves received guidance. 21 (End of Part 22 |
36:22 | | “And what would happen to me if I did not serve Him Who created me, and He to Whom you will all be brought back |
36:23 | | “Shall I take gods besides Him? If God, the Merciful Benefactor, should intend some adversity for me, of no use would be their intercession for me, nor can they save me |
36:24 | | “I would indeed, if I were to do so, be in manifest error |
36:25 | | “For me, I have faith in the Guardian Evolver of you all, so listen to me. |
36:26 | | It was said, “Enter the garden.” He said, “I wish that my people knew |
36:27 | | “That my Lord has granted me forgiveness, and has enrolled me among those held in honor. |
36:28 | | And We did not send down against his people after him any guest from heaven, nor was it necessary for Us to do so |
36:29 | | It was no more than a single mighty blast, and behold, they were gone |
36:30 | | Unfortunately for these slaves, there does not come a messenger to them that they did not mock |
36:31 | | Do they not see how many generations before them We caused to perish? And they will not return to them |
36:32 | | But each one of them will be brought before Us |
36:33 | | A sign for them is the earth that is dead. We give it life, and produce grain from it, of which you eat |
36:34 | | And We produce in it orchards with date palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein |
36:35 | | That they may enjoy the fruits of it. It was not their hands that made this. Will they not then give thanks |
36:36 | | Glory be to God, Who created in pairs all things that the earth produces, all of it, and things that they do not know of |
36:37 | | And a sign for them is the night. We withdraw from it the day, and behold, they are plunged into darkness |
36:38 | | And the Sun runs its course for a period determined for it. That is His decree, the Exalted in Might, the All Knowing |
36:39 | | And the Moon, We have ordained for it phases, until it returns like the withered lower part of a date-stalk |
36:40 | | It is not permitted for the Sun to catch the Moon, nor can the night outstrip the day. Each swims along in its own orbit |
36:41 | | And a sign for them is that We carried their people through the flood in the loaded Ark |
36:42 | | And We have created for them similar vessels on which they ride |
36:43 | | If it were Our will, We could drown them. Then there would be no helper, nor could they be delivered |
36:44 | | Except by way of mercy from Us, and by way of convenience for a time |
36:45 | | They are told, “Be conscious of that which is before you and that which is after you, in order that you may receive mercy. |
36:46 | | Not a sign comes to them from among the signs of their Lord, except those from which they turn away |
36:47 | | And when they are told, “Give of that which God has provided you,” the unbelievers say to those who believe, “Shall we feed those whom if God had so willed, He would have fed Himself? You are in nothing but manifest error. |
36:48 | | Further they say, “When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true? |
36:49 | | They will not have to wait for anything but a single blast. It will seize them while they are still disputing among themselves |
36:50 | | Then no chance will they have with their will to manage their affairs, nor to return to their people |
36:51 | | The trumpet will be sounded, when behold, from their place of rest, people will rush forth to their Lord |
36:52 | | They will say, “Woe to us, who has raised us up from our resting place?” This is what God, the Merciful Benefactor, promised. And true was the word of the messengers. |
36:53 | | It will be no more than a single blast, and then they will all be brought up before Us |
36:54 | | Then on that day, not a soul will be wronged in the least, and you will be repaid for your past deeds |
36:55 | | Indeed on that day the companions of the garden will have joy in all that they do |
36:56 | | They and their mates will be in groves of shade, reclining on thrones |
36:57 | | Fruit will be there for them, they will have whatever they call for |
36:58 | | “Peace,” a word from the Lord, Mercifully Redeeming |
36:59 | | “And O you in sin, get away this day |
36:60 | | “Did I not enjoin on you, O you children of Adam, that you should not worship Satan, and that he was to you a sworn enemy |
36:61 | | “And that you should worship Me, and that this is the straight way |
36:62 | | “But he led astray a great multitude of you. Did you not then use reason |
36:63 | | “This is the hell about which you were warned |
36:64 | | “Embrace the fire this day, because you rejected it. |
36:65 | | That day will We put a seal on their mouths, but their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will bear witness to all that they did |
36:66 | | If it had been Our will, We could surely have removed their eyes, then they would have run about grabbing for the path, but how could they have seen |
36:67 | | And if it had been Our will, We could have transformed them in their places, then they would have been unable to proceed, and they could not have returned |
36:68 | | If We grant long life to any, We cause them to be reversed in creation. Will they not then understand |
36:69 | | We have not instructed the messenger in poetry, nor is that like him. This is no less than a message and a Quran making things clear |
36:70 | | That it may give advice to any that are alive, and that the charge may be proven against those who reject it |
36:71 | | Do they not see that it is We who have created for them livestock, among the things that Our hands have fashioned that are under their control |
36:72 | | And that We have subjected them to their use? Of them, some carry them and some they eat |
36:73 | | And they obtain other benefits from them, including drink. Will they not then be grateful |
36:74 | | Yet they take for worship gods other than God, thinking that they might be helped |
36:75 | | They do not have the power to help them, but they will be brought up all together |
36:76 | | But do not let their speech grieve you. Indeed We know what they hide as well as what they disclose |
36:77 | | Do human beings not see that it is We Who created them from a zygote? Yet behold, he stands up as an open adversary |
36:78 | | And he makes comparisons to Us, and forgets his own origin and creation. He says, “Who can give life to bones, and decomposed ones at that? |
36:79 | | Say, “He will give them life Who created them the first time. For He is well-versed in every kind of creation |
36:80 | | “The same One who produces for you fire out of the green tree, when behold, you kindle with it |
36:81 | | “Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth able to create the likes of him?” Yes indeed, for He is the Ultimate Creator, the All Knowing |
36:82 | | Indeed, when He intends a thing, His command is “Be”, and it is |
36:83 | | So glory be to Him in Whose hands are the control of all things, and to Him will you all be brought back |
