| Arabic | | اللَّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ مَثَلُ نُورِهِ كَمِشْكَاةٍ فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ الْمِصْبَاحُ فِي زُجَاجَةٍ الزُّجَاجَةُ كَأَنَّهَا كَوْكَبٌ دُرِّيٌّ يُوقَدُ مِن شَجَرَةٍ مُّبَارَكَةٍ زَيْتُونَةٍ لَّا شَرْقِيَّةٍ وَلَا غَرْبِيَّةٍ يَكَادُ زَيْتُهَا يُضِيءُ وَلَوْ لَمْ تَمْسَسْهُ نَارٌ نُّورٌ عَلَىٰ نُورٍ يَهْدِي اللَّهُ لِنُورِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ الْأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيم |  |

| (of the) west, | gharbiyyatin | غَرْبِيَّةٍ | غ ر ب | |
| would almost | yakādu | يَكَادُ | ك و د | |
| its oil | zaytuhā | زَيْتُهَا | ز ى ت | |
| touched it | tamsashu | تَمْسَسْهُ | م س س | |
| to His Light | linūrihi | لِنُورِهِ | ن و ر | |
| He wills. | yashāu | يَشَاءُ | ش ى ء | |
| And sets forth | wayaḍribu | وَيَضْرِبُ | ض ر ب | |
| the examples | l-amthāla | الْأَمْثَالَ | م ث ل | |
| for the mankind. | lilnnāsi | لِلنَّاسِ | ن و س | |
| And Allah | wal-lahu | وَاللَّهُ | ا ل ه | |
| of every | bikulli | بِكُلِّ | ك ل ل | |
| (is) All-Knower. | ʿalīmun | عَلِيمٌ | ع ل م | |
