| | Ali Bakhtiari Nejad rendition of Surah Children of Israel, The Israelites(al-Isra`) --- |
---|
17:1 | | Glory to Him who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Al-Aqsa Mosque which We blessed its surrounding, so that We show him some of Our signs. Indeed He hears all, sees all. |
17:2 | | And We gave Moses the book, and made it a guide for children of Israel (saying): do not take any advocate other than Me |
17:3 | | Descendants of those whom We carried with Noah (in the Ark), indeed he was a grateful servant |
17:4 | | And in the book We declared to children of Israel: you shall commit corruption in the land twice, you shall rise to a great superiority (and arrogance) |
17:5 | | then when first promise of two comes, We would raise servants of Ours against you with awesome powers, then they enter your houses. This is a promise that was done |
17:6 | | Then We give you back the turnaround over them, and We help you with wealth and children, and We make you numerous persons |
17:7 | | If you do good, you do good for yourselves, and if you do bad, then it is for yourself. So, when the last promise comes, (We send your enemies) to sadden your faces and to enter the temple as they entered it the first time, and to destroy whatever they overcome with utmost destruction |
17:8 | | Perhaps your Master will have mercy on you. And if you return (to sin) We return (to punishment). And We made hell a prison for the disbelievers |
17:9 | | Indeed this Quran guides to that (way of life) which is most proper, and gives good news to the believers, those who do good works, that they have a great reward |
17:10 | | And for those who do not believe in the hereafter, We prepared a painful punishment for them |
17:11 | | The human being prays for the bad as he prays for the good, for the human being is very hasty (and impulsive and rash) |
17:12 | | And We made the night and the day two signs, then We darkened the sign of the night, and made sign of the day visible so that you look for a bounty from your Master and that you know the number of years and the count (of other things). And We explained everything in full detail |
17:13 | | And We tied deeds of every human being around his neck, and on the resurrection day We bring it out for him, as a book which he sees it open |
17:14 | | (He will be told) read your book, today yourself is sufficient for accounting against you |
17:15 | | Anyone who is guided then he is only guided for his himself, and anyone who lost (the right path) then he only errs against himself. And no bearer bears the burden of another. And We are not punishers until We send a messenger |
17:16 | | And when We want to destroy any town, We instruct its rich ones (to obedience), then they disobey in it, then the word is justified against it, then We destroy it with utmost destruction |
17:17 | | And We destroyed many generations after Noah, and it is enough that your Master is well informed and watchful of His servants’ sins |
17:18 | | Anyone who desires the transient (this world’s life), We rush to him what We want for whom We want in it, then We put hell for him to enter it (and burn), condemned and banished |
17:19 | | And anyone who wants the hereafter and tries for it, as should be tried for it, and is a believer, then their efforts is appreciated (and rewarded) |
17:20 | | We help them all, these and those, from your Master’s gift, and your Master’s gift is not held back (from anyone) |
17:21 | | See how we preferred some over the others, and certainly the hereafter has greater levels and greater preference |
17:22 | | Do not set up other god with God, so you sit condemned and abandoned |
17:23 | | And your Master ordered that do not serve except Him, and be good to your parents. If one of them or both of them reaches old age with you, do not say ugh (or yuck) to them and do not snap at them (or drive them away), and talk to them honorably (and kindly) |
17:24 | | And spread the wing of humility (and respect) for them out of kindness, and say: my Master, have mercy on them as they nurtured me from childhood |
17:25 | | Your Master knows best what is in your minds. If you are righteous, then indeed He is forgiving for all who are repentant (and turn to Him) |
17:26 | | And give the relative (and close one) his due, as well as the needy and the traveler (in need), and do not spend wastefully (and excessively) |
17:27 | | Indeed those who spend wastefully (and excessively) are brothers of the devils, and the devil is ungrateful to his Master |
17:28 | | And if you turn away from them looking for a mercy from your Master that you hope for it, then speak to them in soft (and courteous) words |
17:29 | | And do not make your hand chained to your neck (being tightfisted) and do not stretch it out to its utmost extent (being excessive) so you sit down blameworthy and regretful |
17:30 | | Indeed your Master increases the provision for anyone He wants and decreases it (for whom He wants). Indeed He is well informed and watchful of his servants |
17:31 | | And do not kill your children for fear of poverty, as We provide for them and for you. Killing them is indeed a great sin |
17:32 | | And do not go near adultery (and fornication), indeed it is indecent and a bad way |
17:33 | | And do not kill anyone as God made it sacred (or forbidden), except in just cause. And anyone who is killed wrongfully, then We have given his heir authority (to forgive or take ransom or retaliate). So do not be excessive in the killing, indeed he is helped |
17:34 | | And do not go near orphan’s property until he reaches maturity except in the best way. And fulfill the promise, as the promise is a responsibility (and will be questioned about) |
17:35 | | And give full measure when you measure, and weigh with accurate scale. That is good and better in the end |
17:36 | | And do not follow what you don’t have knowledge of it. Indeed the ear and the eye and the heart, each of them is responsible for that |
17:37 | | And do not walk on the earth overjoyed (and selfishly), as you will never crack the earth and you will never reach the mountains in height |
17:38 | | Badness of all that is disliked by your Master |
17:39 | | That is from what your Master revealed to you of the wisdom. And do not set up another god with God, otherwise you will be thrown into hell blameworthy and banished. |
17:40 | | Did your Master choose sons for you, and He took daughters from the angels? Indeed you say an outrageous word |
17:41 | | And We have certainly explained (the truth) in various ways in this Quran so that they take notice, but it only increases their disgust (and hatred) |
17:42 | | Say: if as they say there were gods with Him, then they would have certainly looked for a way toward the owner of the throne. |
17:43 | | Glory to Him (He is flawless) and He is greatly superior and above what they say |
17:44 | | The seven skies and the earth and everyone in them glorify Him. And there is nothing that does not glorify Him with His praise, but you do not understand their glorifying. Indeed He is patient and forgiving |
17:45 | | And when you read the Quran, We place an invisible barrier between you and those who do not believe in the hereafter |
17:46 | | And We put coverings on their hearts and a deafness in their ears that they do not understand it (the Quran),. And when you mention your Master’s oneness in the Quran, they turn their backs in disgust (and hatred) |
17:47 | | We know better what they listen to it when they listen to you and when they talk secretly (and privately), when the wrongdoers say: you only follow a bewitched man |
17:48 | | See how they give examples of you, therefore they lost (the right path) and they cannot find a way |
17:49 | | And they said: are we raised in a new creation when we are bones and decomposed fragments |
17:50 | | Say: if you become stone or iro |
17:51 | | or a creation which is great in your mind (you still will be resurrected). Then they are going to say: who returns us (to life)? Say: He who created you the first time. Then they are going to shake their heads at you and say: when is that? Say: perhaps it is close |
17:52 | | a day that He calls you, and you answer with His praise, and you think that you only stayed (dead) for a little while |
17:53 | | And tell My servants to say that which is the best (and in the best manner). Indeed Satan brings about animosity between them. Indeed Satan is an obvious enemy for the human being |
17:54 | | Your Master knows you better. If He wants He has mercy on you or if He wants He punishes you. We did not send you as their advocate |
17:55 | | And your Master knows better everyone in the skies and on the earth. And We have certainly preferred some prophets over the others, and We gave David the Psalms (Zabur) |
17:56 | | Say: call on those whom you claimed other than Him, they do not have any power to get rid of the trouble from you or change it |
17:57 | | Those whom they call on, they look for the mean to their Master, anyone of them who are closer (to God) and they hope for His mercy and they fear His punishment. Indeed your Master's punishment is to be avoided |
17:58 | | There is not any town that We do not destroy it or punish it with a severe punishment before the resurrection day. That is written down in the book |
17:59 | | And nothing prevented Us from sending the miracles except that the earlier ones denied it. And We gave Thamud the female camel, a visible (sign), then they did wrong to her. And We do not send the miracles except as a scare |
17:60 | | And (remember) when We said to you: indeed your Master surrounds (and dominates) the people. And We only made the dream that We showed you and the cursed tree in the Quran as a test for the people. And We scare them (by warning them), but it only increases their great rebellion. |
17:61 | | And (remember) when We said to the angels: be humble to Adam. They all showed humbleness except Iblis (Satan), he said: should I be humble to one You created from clay |
17:62 | | He (Satan) said: what is Your idea, this one that You honored above me, if you give me time until the resurrection day, I shall gain mastery over his descendants except a few (of them). |
17:63 | | He (God) said: go, and anyone of them who follows you, then indeed hell is your reward, a complete (and full) reward. |
17:64 | | And incite anyone of them you can with your voice and summon your cavalry and your men against them, and be their partner in their wealth and their children and promise them (all you want). Satan does not promise them anything except a delusion |
17:65 | | Indeed you have no authority (and power) over My servants, and your Master is sufficient as an advocate |
17:66 | | Your Master is the One who sails the ship through the sea for you so that you look for His bounty. Your Master is indeed merciful to you |
17:67 | | When the harm happens to you in the sea, whomever you call on abandons except Him. But when He saves you (and bring you back) to the land, you stay away (from Him). The human being is very ungrateful |
17:68 | | Do you feel safe that He does not makes you sink in a part of the land or He does not send you a sandstorm then you will not find any advocate for yourselves |
17:69 | | Or do you feel safe that He does not bring you back into it (the sea) another time and He sends you a hurricane of wind and drowns you because you disbelieved then you will not find a prosecutor (or anyone to sue) against Us for it |
17:70 | | And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and We carried them in the land and the sea, and We provided them with good things and We preferred them over most of what We created |
17:71 | | On a day that We call all people with their book of records (or their scripture or their leader), then whoever is given his book in his right hand are those who read their book (with pleasure) and they will not be wronged a bit |
17:72 | | And anyone who is blind in this (world), then he is blind in the hereafter, and far lost from a (right) way |
17:73 | | And they were about to tempt you away from what We revealed to you, so that you make up something different than that about Us (and attribute it to Us), and then they would have taken you as a friend |
17:74 | | And if We had not strengthened you, you would have almost leaned toward them a little bit |
17:75 | | Then We would certainly make you taste double/multiple (punishment) in the life and double/multiple in the death, and you would not have found any helper against Us |
17:76 | | They almost enticed/scared you off the land to drive you out of it, and then they would have only stayed for a short while after you. |
17:77 | | (This was Our) way with messengers that We have sent before you, and you do not find any change in Our way |
17:78 | | Perform the mandatory prayer from setting of the sun until darkness of the night and the dawn’s recital, and the dawn’s recital is witnessed. |
17:79 | | And stay awake part of the night with it, as an additional prayer for you, perhaps your Master raises you to a worthy position |
17:80 | | And say: my Master, make me enter a true entrance and make me exit a true exit (in whatever I do) and give me a helping power from You. |
17:81 | | And say: the truth came and falsehood died out. Falsehood is indeed perishable |
17:82 | | And We send down from the Quran that which is a cure and a mercy for the believers, and it only adds to the loss of the wrongdoers |
17:83 | | And when We do favor to the human being, he stays away and goes on his side (and withdraws), and when the badness touches him, he becomes hopeless. |
17:84 | | Say: everyone acts according to his character (and his development), and your Master knows better who is better guided to a (right) way |
17:85 | | And they ask you about the spirit (of the revelation). Say: the spirit (of the revelation) is my Master’s affair, and you are only given a little knowledge |
17:86 | | If We want, We shall take away what We revealed to you, then you do not find any advocate about it for yourself against Us |
17:87 | | except a mercy from your Master. Indeed His grace upon you is great |
17:88 | | Say: if humans and Jinn join together to bring like this Quran, they cannot bring like it, even if they support each other |
17:89 | | We have certainly explained all kind of examples for the people in this Quran, but most of the people refuse (to accept) except disbelief. |
17:90 | | And they said: we will never believe in you until you make a spring flows out of the earth for us |
17:91 | | or you have a garden of date palms and grapes and you make rivers flow through it abundantly |
17:92 | | or you make the sky fall on us in pieces as you claimed, or bring God and angels face to face (with us) |
17:93 | | or you have a house from gold or you go up into the sky, and we will never believe in your going up until you bring down a book for us that we read it. Say: glory to my Master (He is flawless), am I not but a human being that is (sent as) a messenger |
17:94 | | And nothing prevented the people to believe when the guidance came to them except that they said: did God send a human being as a messenger |
17:95 | | Say: if there were angels walking comfortably on the earth, We would have certainly sent down to them an angel from the sky as a messenger |
17:96 | | Say: God is enough as witness between me and you, indeed He is informed and watchful of His servants |
17:97 | | And whomever God guides then he is guided, and whomever He misguides you will never find any guardian (or protector) for them other than Him. On the resurrection day, We gather them on their faces (facing downward) blind and dumb and deaf. Their housing is hell, and whenever it subsides, We increase the burning fire for them |
17:98 | | That is their payback because they disbelieved in Our signs and said: are we raised in a new creation when we are bones and decomposed fragments |
17:99 | | Or did they not see that God the One who created the skies and the earth is able to create like them (again)? And He made an appointed time for them that there is no doubt about it. The wrongdoers refuse (anything) but disbelief |
17:100 | | Say: if you owned the treasures of my Master’s mercy, then you would have held them for fear of spending (and finishing them). The human being is tightfisted |
17:101 | | And We have certainly given Moses nine clear miracles. Ask children of Israel when he (Moses) came to them, and Pharaoh told him: Moses, I think you are bewitched |
17:102 | | He (Moses) said: you have certainly known that none has sent down these (miracles) except the Master of the skies and the earth as enlightenment, and I think that you will be destroyed Pharaoh |
17:103 | | Then he wanted to scare them off from the land, but We drowned him and those who were with him altogether |
17:104 | | And We said to the children of Israel after him: inhabit the land, and when the promise of the hereafter comes, We bring you as a mixed crowd |
17:105 | | And We truly sent it (Quran) down, and it came down with the truth, and We only sent you as a giver of good news and a warner |
17:106 | | And (it is) a Quran which We divided it (and sent it part by part), so you read it to the people at intervals (and gradually), and We sent it down gradually |
17:107 | | Say: whether you believe in it or you do not believe, indeed when it is read to those who were given the knowledge before it, they fall down on their chins (faces) being humble |
17:108 | | And they say: glory to our Master (He is flawless), indeed the promise of our Master is fulfilled |
17:109 | | And they fall down on their chins (faces) crying, and it (Quran) adds to their humility |
17:110 | | Say: call on God or call on the beneficent, whichever one you call on (it makes no difference), the good names (and attributes) are for Him. And do not be loud in your mandatory prayer and do not be quiet with it, and look for a way between that |
17:111 | | And say: all praise belongs to God, the One who did not take a child, and there is no partner for Him in the rule, and there is no supporter (or helper) for Him out of the weakness, and magnify Him greatly |
