ثُمَّ بَدَا لَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا رَأَوُا الآيَاتِ لَيَسْجُنُنَّه ُُ حَتَّى حِين ٍ
Thumma Badā Lahum Min Ba`di Mā Ra'aw Al-'Āyāti Layasjununnahu Ĥattá Ĥīnin
But it appealed to them, even after they had seen the signs, to imprison him for a time.

12:25
وَاسْتَبَقَا الْبَابَ وَقَدَّتْ قَمِيصَه ُُ مِنْ دُبُر ٍ وَأَلْفَيَا سَيِّدَهَا لَدَى الْبَابِ قَالَتْ مَا جَزَاءُ مَنْ أَرَادَ بِأَهْلِكَ سُوءا ً إِلاَّ أَنْ يُسْجَنَ أَوْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيم ٌ
Wa Astabaqā Al-Bāba Wa Qaddat Qamīşahu Min Duburin Wa 'Alfayā Sayyidahā Ladá Al-Bābi Qālat Mā Jazā'u Man 'Arāda Bi'ahlika Sū'āan 'Illā 'An Yusjana 'Aw `Adhābun 'Alīmun
And as they rushed towards the door, she tore his shirt from behind; and they found her master at the door. She said: "What is the punishment for he who wanted evil for your family? Is it not that he be imprisoned or punished painfully?"
12:32
قَالَتْ فَذَلِكُنَّ الَّذِي لُمْتُنَّنِي فِيه ِِ وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدتُّه ُُ عَنْ نَفْسِه ِِ فَاسْتَعْصَمَ وَلَئِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ مَا آمُرُه ُُ لَيُسْجَنَنَّ وَلَيَكُونا ً مِنَ الصَّاغِرِينَ
Qālat Fadhālikunna Al-Ladhī Lumtunnanī Fīhi Wa Laqad Rāwadttuhu `An Nafsihi Fāsta`şama Wa La'in Lam Yaf`al Mā 'Āmuruhu Layusjananna Wa Layakūnāan Mina Aş-Şāghirīna
She said: "This is the one whom you blamed me for, and I have seduced him from himself but he refused. And if he does not do as I command him, he will be imprisoned, and he will be one of those disgraced."

قَالَ لَئِنِ اتَّخَذْتَ إِلَهَاً غَيْرِي لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ الْمَسْجُونِينَ
Qāla La'ini Attakhadhta 'Ilahāan Ghayrī La'aj`alannaka Mina Al-Masjūnīna
He said: "If you take a god other than me, then I will put you among the prisoners."

Kallā 'Inna Kitāba Al-Fujjāri Lafī Sijjīnin
No, the record of the wicked is in Sijjeen.
83:8
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّين ٌ
Wa Mā 'Adrāka Mā Sijjīnun
And do you know what is Sijjeen?

قَالَ رَبِّ السِّجْنُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا يَدْعُونَنِي إِلَيْهِ وَإِلاَّ تَصْرِفْ عَنِّي كَيْدَهُنَّ أَصْبُ إِلَيْهِنَّ وَأَكُنْ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ
Qāla Rabbi As-Sijnu 'Aĥabbu 'Ilayya Mimmā Yad`ūnanī 'Ilayhi Wa 'Illā Taşrif `Annī Kaydahunna 'Aşbu 'Ilayhinna Wa 'Akun Mina Al-Jāhilīna
He said: "My Lord, prison is better to me than what they are inviting me to do. And if You do not turn their plans away from me, I will fall for them and be of the ignorant."
12:36
وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ السِّجْنَ فَتَيَانِ قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا إِنِّي أَرَانِي أَعْصِرُ خَمْرا ً وَقَالَ الآخَرُ إِنِّي أَرَانِي أَحْمِلُ فَوْقَ رَأْسِي خُبْزا ً تَأْكُلُ الطَّيْرُ مِنْهُ نَبِّئْنَا بِتَأْوِيلِهِ~ِ إِنَّا نَرَاكَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Wa Dakhala Ma`ahu As-Sijna Fatayāni Qāla 'Aĥaduhumā 'Innī 'Arānī 'A`şiru Khamrāan Wa Qāla Al-'Ākharu 'Innī 'Arānī 'Aĥmilu Fawqa Ra'sī Khubzāan Ta'kulu Aţ-Ţayru Minhu Nabbi'nā Bita'wīlihi 'Innā Narāka Mina Al-Muĥsinīna
And with him in the prison entered two young men. One of them said: "I dreamt that I was pressing wine," and the other said: "I dreamt that I was carrying bread on top of my head, and that the birds were eating from it." "Tell us its interpretation, for we see that you are of the good doers."
12:39
يَا صَاحِبَيِ السِّجْنِ أَأَرْبَاب ٌ مُتَفَرِّقُونَ خَيْرٌ أَمِ اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ
Yā Şāĥibayi As-Sijni 'A'arbābun Mutafarriqūna Khayrun 'Ami Allāhu Al-Wāĥidu Al-Qahhāru
"O my fellow inmates, are various lords better, or God, the One, the Supreme?"
12:41
يَا صَاحِبَيِ السِّجْنِ أَمَّا أَحَدُكُمَا فَيَسْقِي رَبَّه ُُ خَمْرا ً وَأَمَّا الآخَرُ فَيُصْلَبُ فَتَأْكُلُ الطَّيْرُ مِنْ رَأْسِه ِِ قُضِيَ الأَمْرُ الَّذِي فِيه ِِ تَسْتَفْتِيَانِ
Yā Şāĥibayi As-Sijni 'Ammā 'Aĥadukumā Fayasqī Rabbahu Khamrāan Wa 'Ammā Al-'Ākharu Fayuşlabu Fata'kulu Aţ-Ţayru Min Ra'sihi QuĐiya Al-'Amru Al-Ladhī Fīhi Tastaftiyāni
"My fellow inmates, one of you will be serving wine for his lord, while the other will be crucified so that the birds will eat from his head. The matter which you have sought is now concluded."
12:42
وَقَالَ لِلَّذِي ظَنَّ أَنَّه ُُ نَاج ٍ مِنْهُمَا اذْكُرْنِي عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ فَأَنسَاهُ الشَّيْطَانُ ذِكْرَ رَبِّه ِِ فَلَبِثَ فِي السِّجْنِ بِضْعَ سِنِينَ
Wa Qāla Lilladhī žanna 'Annahu Nājin Minhumā Adhkurnī `Inda Rabbika Fa'ansāhu Ash-Shayţānu Dhikra Rabbihi Falabitha Fī As-Sijni BiĐ`a Sinīna
And he said to the one of them whom he thought would be saved: "Mention me to your lord." But the devil made him forget to mention to his lord, so he remained in prison for a few years.
12:100
وَرَفَعَ أَبَوَيْهِ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ وَخَرُّوا لَه ُُ سُجَّدا ً وَقَالَ يَاأَبَتِ هَذَا تَأْوِيلُ رُؤْيَاي مِنْ قَبْلُ قَدْ جَعَلَهَا رَبِّي حَقّا ً وَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ بِي إِذْ أَخْرَجَنِي مِنَ السِّجْنِ وَجَاءَ بِكُمْ مِنَ الْبَدْوِ مِنْ بَعْدِ أَنْ نَزَغَ الشَّيْطَانُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ إِخْوَتِي إِنَّ رَبِّي لَطِيف ٌ لِمَا يَشَاءُ إِنَّه ُُ هُوَ الْعَلِيمُ الْحَكِيمُ
Wa Rafa`a 'Abawayhi `Alá Al-`Arshi Wa Kharrū Lahu Sujjadāan Wa Qāla Yā 'Abati Hādhā Ta'wīlu Ru'uyā Y Min Qablu Qad Ja`alahā Rabbī Ĥaqqāan Wa Qad 'Aĥsana Bī 'Idh 'Akhrajanī Mina As-Sijni Wa Jā'a Bikum Mina Al-Badwi Min Ba`di 'An Nazagha Ash-Shayţānu Baynī Wa Bayna 'Ikhwatī 'Inna Rabbī Laţīfun Limā Yashā'u 'Innahu Huwa Al-`Alīmu Al-Ĥakīmu
And he raised his parents upon the throne, and they fell in prostration to Him. And he said: "My father, this is the interpretation of my vision from before. My Lord has made it true, and He has been good to me that he took me out of prison and brought you out of the wilderness after the devil had made bitterness between me and my brothers. My Lord is Kind to whom He wills. He is the Knowledgeable, the Wise."
