11:106
فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ شَقُوا فَفِي النَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِير ٌ وَشَهِيق ٌ
Fa'ammā Al-Ladhīna Shaqū Fafī An-Nāri Lahum Fīhā Zafīrun Wa Shahīqun
As for those who are distraught, they will be in the Fire; in it for them is a sighing and a wailing.
impf. act.
20:2
مَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ لِتَشْقَى
Mā 'Anzalnā `Alayka Al-Qur'āna Litashqá
We did not send down to you the Qur'an so you may suffer.
20:117
فَقُلْنَا يَاآدَمُ إِنَّ هَذَا عَدُوّ ٌ لَكَ وَلِزَوْجِكَ فَلاَ يُخْرِجَنَّكُمَا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ فَتَشْقَى
Faqulnā Yā 'Ādamu 'Inna Hādhā `Adūwun Laka Wa Lizawjika Falā Yukhrijannakumā Mina Al-Jannati Fatashqá
So We said: "O Adam, this is an enemy to you and your mate. So do not let him take you out from the paradise, else you will have hardship."
20:123
قَالَ اهْبِطَا مِنْهَا جَمِيعا ً بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوّ ٌ فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ مِنِّي هُدى ً فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ هُدَايَ فَلاَ يَضِلُّ وَلاَ يَشْقَى
Qāla Ahbiţā Minhā Jamī`āan Ba`Đukum Liba`Đin `Adūwun Fa'immā Ya'tiyannakum Minnī Hudáan Famani Attaba`a Hudāya Falā YaĐillu Wa Lā Yashqá
He said: "Descend from this, all of you, for you are enemies to one another. So, when My guidance comes to you, then, whoever follows My guidance, he will not go astray nor suffer."

11:105
يَوْمَ يَأْتِ لاَ تَكَلَّمُ نَفْس ٌ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِه ِِ فَمِنْهُمْ شَقِيّ ٌ وَسَعِيد ٌ
Yawma Ya'ti Lā Takallamu Nafsun 'Illā Bi'idhnihi Faminhum Shaqīyun Wa Sa`īdun
On the Day it comes, no person will speak except with His permission. Some of them will be distraught, some will be happy.
19:4
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَهَنَ الْعَظْمُ مِنِّي وَاشْتَعَلَ الرَّأْسُ شَيْبا ً وَلَمْ أَكُنْ بِدُعَائِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيّا ً
Qāla Rabbi 'Innī Wahana Al-`Ažmu Minnī Wa Ashta`ala Ar-Ra'su Shaybāan Wa Lam 'Akun Bidu`ā'ika Rabbi Shaqīyāan
He said: "My Lord, my bones have gone frail, and my hair has turned white, and I have never been mischievous in imploring You my Lord."
19:32
وَبَرّا ً بِوَالِدَتِي وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي جَبَّارا ً شَقِيّا ً
Wa Barrāan Biwālidatī Wa Lam Yaj`alnī Jabbārāan Shaqīyāan
"And to be dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a mischievous tyrant."
19:48
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَأَدْعُو رَبِّي عَسَى أَلاَّ أَكُونَ بِدُعَاءِ رَبِّي شَقِيّا ً
Wa 'A`tazilukum Wa Mā Tad`ūna Min Dūni Allāhi Wa 'Ad`ū Rabbī `Asá 'Allā 'Akūna Bidu`ā'i Rabbī Shaqīyāan
"And I will abandon you and what you call on besides God. And I will implore my Lord, hoping that I will not be mischievous in imploring my Lord."
87:11
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الأَشْقَى
Wa Yatajannabuhā Al-'Ashqá
And he who is wicked will avoid it.
91:12
إِذِ انْبَعَثَ أَشْقَاهَا
'Idhi Anba`atha 'Ashqāhā
They followed the worst among them.
92:15
لاَ يَصْلاَهَا إِلاَّ الأَشْقَى
Lā Yaşlāhā 'Illā Al-'Ashqá
None shall have it except the wicked.

23:106
قَالُوا رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْما ً ضَالِّينَ
Qālū Rabbanā Ghalabat `Alaynā Shiqwatunā Wa Kunnā Qawmāan Đāllīna
They said: "Our Lord, our wickedness overcame us, and we were a misguided people."
