vb. (1) perf. act.
9:12
Wa 'In Nakathū 'Aymānahum Min Ba`di `Ahdihim Wa Ţa`anū Fī Dīnikum Faqātilū 'A'immata Al-Kufri 'Innahum Lā 'Aymāna Lahum La`allahum Yantahūna
And if they break their oaths after making their pledge, and they challenge the authority of your system; then you may kill the leaders of rejection. Their oaths are nothing to them, perhaps they will then cease.
9:13
'Alā Tuqātilūna Qawmāan Nakathū 'Aymānahum Wa Hammū Bi'ikhrāji Ar-Rasūli Wa Hum Bada'ūkum 'Awwala Marratin 'Atakhshawnahum Fa-Allāhu 'Aĥaqqu 'An Takhshawhu 'In Kuntum Mu'uminīna
Would you not fight a people who broke their oaths and intended to expel the messenger, especially while they were the ones who attacked you first? Are you concerned about them? It is God who is more deserving that you be concerned with if you are believers.
48:10
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Yubāyi`ūnaka 'Innamā Yubāyi`ūna Allāha Yadu Allāhi Fawqa 'Aydīhim Faman Nakatha Fa'innamā Yankuthu `Alá Nafsihi Wa Man 'Awfá Bimā `Āhada `Alayhu Allāha Fasayu'utīhi 'Ajrāan `Ažīmāan
Those who pledge allegiance to you, are in-fact pledging allegiance to God; the hand of God is above their hands. Those of them who violate such a pledge, are violating it only for themselves. And whoever fulfills what he has pledged to God, then He will grant him a great re ward.
impf. act.
7:135
Falammā Kashafnā `Anhumu Ar-Rijza 'Ilá 'Ajalin Hum Bālighūhu 'Idhā Hum Yankuthūna
So when We removed from them the plague until a future time; they broke their pledge.
43:50
Falammā Kashafnā `Anhumu Al-`Adhāba 'Idhā Hum Yankuthūna
But when We removed the torment from them, they broke their word.
48:10

16:92

And do not be like she who unraveled her knitting after it had become strong, by breaking your oaths as a means of deception between you. That a nation shall be more numerous than another nation, for God puts you to the test by it. And He will show you on the Day of Resurrection that which you were disputing in.
