31:12
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا لُقْمَانَ الْحِكْمَةَ أَنِ اشْكُرْ لِلَّهِ وَمَنْ يَشْكُرْ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِه ِِ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ حَمِيد ٌ
Wa Laqad 'Ātaynā Luqmāna Al-Ĥikmata 'Ani Ashkur Lillāhi Wa Man Yashkur Fa'innamā Yashkuru Linafsihi Wa Man Kafara Fa'inna Allāha Ghanīyun Ĥamīdun
And We had given Luqmaan the wisdom: You shall be thankful to God, and whoever is thankful is being thankful for his own good. As for whoever rejects, then God is Rich, Praiseworthy.
31:13
وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لِابْنِه ِِ وَهُوَ يَعِظُه ُُ يَابُنَيَّ لاَ تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيم ٌ
Wa 'Idh Qāla Luqmānu Liābnihi Wa Huwa Ya`ižuhu Yā Bunayya Lā Tushrik Billāhi 'Inna Ash-Shirka Lažulmun `Ažīmun
And Luqmaan said to his son, while he was advising him: O my son, do not set up any partners withGod; for setting up partners is an immense wrongdoing.

37:142
فَالْتَقَمَهُ الْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيم ٌ
Fāltaqamahu Al-Ĥūtu Wa Huwa Mulīmun
Thus a whale swallowed him, and he was the one to blame.
