To incline, modulate, make a change in the tone, way of speaking, tenor not to speak straight, oblique pronounciation, speak incorrectly, intent of speech, speech with a mode showing speakers inner feeling contrary to the obvious meaning of the word.

وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَأَرَيْنَاكَهُمْ فَلَعَرَفْتَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ وَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِي لَحْنِ الْقَوْلِ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ أَعْمَالَكُمْ
Wa Law Nashā'u La'araynākahum Fala`araftahum Bisīmāhum Wa Lata`rifannahum Fī Laĥni Al-Qawli Wa Allāhu Ya`lamu 'A`mālakum
And if We wished, We would show them to you so you would recognize them by their looks. However, you can recognize them by their speech. And God is fully aware of your works.
