Kaf-Ba-Ta
To abase, throw down, restrain, overwhelm, prostrate, expose ignominy, humble, vanquish with humiliation, be laid low and humbled, cause to perish, deny a person what he desires, to disappoint a person, to be enraged and grieved, restrain one's rage in his inside or bosom, smite or hurt one's liver, fall prostrate upon one's face.

لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفا ً مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنْقَلِبُوا خَائِبِينَ
Liyaqţa`a Ţarafāan Mina Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'Aw Yakbitahum Fayanqalibū Khā'ibīna
Thus He will sever a group of those who reject, or disgrace them; then they will turn back frustrated.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُحَادُّونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَه ُُ كُبِتُوا كَمَا كُبِتَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَقَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا آيَات ٍ بَيِّنَات ٍ وَلِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَاب ٌ مُهِين ٌ
'Inna Al-Ladhīna Yuĥāddūna Allāha Wa Rasūlahu Kubitū Kamā Kubita Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Wa Qad 'Anzalnā 'Āyātin Bayyinātin Wa Lilkāfirīna `Adhābun Muhīnun
Those who oppose God and His messenger will be disgraced, like their previous counterparts were disgraced. We have sent down clear proofs, and the rejecters have incurred a shameful retribution.
58:5
