He (or one’s bosom) became affected with rancour, malevolence, malice, or spite. It became crooked. He became affected with desire or with yearning or with longing for the soul. The lion (because he is very rancorous, malevolent, malicious, or spiteful).

47:29
أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ أَنْ لَنْ يُخْرِجَ اللَّهُ أَضْغَانَهُمْ
'Am Ĥasiba Al-Ladhīna Fī Qulūbihim MaraĐun 'An Lan Yukhrija Allāhu 'AĐghānahum
Or did those who harbor a disease in their hearts think that God would not bring out their evil thoughts?

47:37
إِنْ يَسْأَلْكُمُوهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوا وَيُخْرِجْ أَضْغَانَكُمْ
'In Yas'alkumūhā Fayuĥfikum Tabkhalū Wa Yukhrij 'AĐghānakum
If He were to ask you for it, to the extent of creating a hardship for you, you would become stingy, and your hidden evil will be exposed.
