Ba-Kha-Ayn
kill oneself with grief/wrath/rage, exceed the ordinary bounds in subduing and abasing themselves by obedience, doing anything to a great extent, in great degree, egregiously or with much energy and effectiveness, consume/torment oneself.

18:6
فَلَعَلَّكَ بَاخِع ٌ نَفْسَكَ عَلَى آثَارِهِمْ إِنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَسَفا ً
Fala`allaka Bākhi`un Nafsaka `Alá 'Āthārihim 'In Lam Yu'uminū Bihadhā Al-Ĥadīthi 'Asafāan
Perhaps you will torment yourself in grief over them, because they will not believe in this narrative at all.
26:3
لَعَلَّكَ بَاخِع ٌ نَفْسَكَ أَلاَّ يَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ
La`allaka Bākhi`un Nafsaka 'Allā Yakūnū Mu'uminīna
Perhaps you grieve yourself that they do not become believers.
