livelihood, time for seeking livelihood.
ma'ishatun
existence, manner of living, rituals, necessities of life, means of life and subsistence, means of obtaining that whereby one lives.

69:21
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَة ٍ رَاضِيَة ٍ
Fahuwa Fī `Īshatin RāĐiyahin
So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing.
101:7
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَة ٍ رَاضِيَة ٍ
Fahuwa Fī `Īshatin RāĐiyahin
He will be in a happy life.

78:11
وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشا ً
Wa Ja`alnā An-Nahāra Ma`āshāan
And We made the day to work in?

7:10
وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّاكُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ قَلِيلا ً مَا تَشْكُرُونَ
Wa Laqad Makkannākum Fī Al-'ArĐi Wa Ja`alnā Lakum Fīhā Ma`āyisha Qalīlāan Mā Tashkurūna
And We granted you dominion on the earth, and made for you in it a habitat; little do you give thanks!
15:20
وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ وَمَنْ لَسْتُمْ لَه ُُ بِرَازِقِينَ
Wa Ja`alnā Lakum Fīhā Ma`āyisha Wa Man Lastum Lahu Birāziqīna
And We have made for you in it a habitat, and for those to whom you are not providers.
20:124
وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَه ُُ مَعِيشَة ً ضَنكا ً وَنَحْشُرُه ُُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَى
Wa Man 'A`raĐa `An Dhikrī Fa'inna Lahu Ma`īshatan Đankāan Wa Naĥshuruhu Yawma Al-Qiyāmati 'A`má
"And whoever turns away from My remembrance, then he will have a miserable life, and We will raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection."
28:58
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَة ٍ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَا فَتِلْكَ مَسَاكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَنْ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ إِلاَّ قَلِيلا ً وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ الْوَارِثِينَ
Wa Kam 'Ahlaknā Min Qaryatin Baţirat Ma`īshatahā Fatilka Masākinuhum Lam Tuskan Min Ba`dihim 'Illā Qalīlāan Wa Kunnā Naĥnu Al-Wārithīna
And how many a town have We destroyed that had become unappreciative of its livelihood. So here are their dwellings, they remained uninhabited after them, except for a few. And We were the inheritors.
43:32
أَهُمْ يَقْسِمُونَ رَحْمَةَ رَبِّكَ نَحْنُ قَسَمْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ مَعِيشَتَهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَرَفَعْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْض ٍ دَرَجَات ٍ لِيَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضا ً سُخْرِيّا ً وَرَحْمَةُ رَبِّكَ خَيْر ٌ مِمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ
'Ahum Yaqsimūna Raĥmata Rabbika Naĥnu Qasamnā Baynahum Ma`īshatahum Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Rafa`nā Ba`Đahum Fawqa Ba`Đin Darajātin Liyattakhidha Ba`Đuhum Ba`Đāan Sukhrīyāan Wa Raĥmatu Rabbika Khayrun Mimmā Yajma`ūna
Is it they who assign the mercy of your Lord? We have assigned their share in this worldly life, and We raised some of them above others in ranks, so that they would take one another in service. The mercy from your Lord is far better than that which they amass.
