5:71
وَحَسِبُوا أَلاَّ تَكُونَ فِتْنَة ٌ فَعَمُوا وَصَمُّوا ثُمَّ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ عَمُوا وَصَمُّوا كَثِير ٌ مِنْهُمْ وَاللَّهُ بَصِير ٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ
Wa Ĥasibū 'Allā Takūna Fitnatun Fa`amū Wa Şammū Thumma Tāba Allāhu `Alayhim Thumma `Amū Wa Şammū Kathīrun Minhum Wa Allāhu Başīrun Bimā Ya`malūna
And they did not consider it might be a test, so they were blind and deaf. But God would have accepted the repentance from them; but many of them were still blind and deaf. God is Seer over what they do.
5:71

6:104
قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ بَصَائِرُ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ فَمَنْ أَبْصَرَ فَلِنَفْسِه ِِ وَمَنْ عَمِيَ فَعَلَيْهَا وَمَا أَنَا عَلَيْكُمْ بِحَفِيظ ٍ
Qad Jā'akum Başā'iru Min Rabbikum Faman 'Abşara Falinafsihi Wa Man `Amiya Fa`alayhā Wa Mā 'Anā `Alaykum Biĥafīžin
"Visible proofs have come to you from your Lord; so whoever can see, does so for himself, and whoever is blinded, will be such. I am not a watcher over you."
28:66
فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الأَنْبَاءُ يَوْمَئِذ ٍ فَهُمْ لاَ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
Fa`amiyat `Alayhimu Al-'Anbā'u Yawma'idhin Fahum Lā Yatasā'alūna
They will be shocked by the news on that Day, they will be speechless.

22:46
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوب ٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَان ٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لاَ تَعْمَى الأَبْصَارُ وَلَكِنْ تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ
'Afalam Yasīrū Fī Al-'ArĐi Fatakūna Lahum Qulūbun Ya`qilūna Bihā 'Aw 'Ādhānun Yasma`ūna Bihā Fa'innahā Lā Ta`má Al-'Abşāru Wa Lakin Ta`má Al-Qulūbu Allatī Fī Aş-Şudūri
Have they not roamed the earth and had hearts with which to comprehend and ears with which to hear? No, it is not the sight which is blind, but it is the hearts that are in the chests that are blind.
22:46
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوب ٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَان ٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لاَ تَعْمَى الأَبْصَارُ وَلَكِنْ تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ
'Afalam Yasīrū Fī Al-'ArĐi Fatakūna Lahum Qulūbun Ya`qilūna Bihā 'Aw 'Ādhānun Yasma`ūna Bihā Fa'innahā Lā Ta`má Al-'Abşāru Wa Lakin Ta`má Al-Qulūbu Allatī Fī Aş-Şudūri
Have they not roamed the earth and had hearts with which to comprehend and ears with which to hear? No, it is not the sight which is blind, but it is the hearts that are in the chests that are blind.

41:17
وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَاهُمْ فَاسْتَحَبُّوا الْعَمَى عَلَى الْهُدَى فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَاعِقَةُ الْعَذَابِ الْهُونِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
Wa 'Ammā Thamūdu Fahadaynāhum Fāstaĥabbū Al-`Amá `Alá Al-Hudá Fa'akhadhat/hum Şā`iqatu Al-`Adhābi Al-Hūni Bimā Kānū Yaksibūna
And as for Thamud, We gave them the guidance, but they preferred blindness over guidance. Consequently, the blast of humiliating retribution annihilated them, because of what they earned.
41:44
وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَاه ُُ قُرْآناً أَعْجَمِيّا ً لَقَالُوا لَوْلاَ فُصِّلَتْ آيَاتُهُ~ُ أَأَعْجَمِيّ ٌ وَعَرَبِيّ ٌ قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هُدى ً وَشِفَاء ٌ وَالَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْر ٌ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمىً أُوْلَائِكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِنْ مَكَان ٍ بَعِيد ٍ
Wa Law Ja`alnāhu Qur'ānāan 'A`jamīyāan Laqālū Lawlā Fuşşilat 'Āyātuhu 'A'a`jamīyun Wa `Arabīyun Qul Huwa Lilladhīna 'Āmanū Hudáan Wa Shifā'un Wa Al-Ladhīna Lā Yu'uminūna Fī 'Ādhānihim Waqrun Wa Huwa `Alayhim `Amáan 'Ūlā'ika Yunādawna Min Makānin Ba`īdin
And had We made it a non-Arabic Quran, they would have said: If only its revelations were made clear! Non-Arabic and Arabic, say: For those who believe, it is a guide and healing. As for those who disbelieve, there is deafness in their ears, and they are blind to it. These will be called from a place far away.

Şummun Bukmun `Umyun Fahum Lā Yarji`ūna
Deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return.
2:171
وَمَثَلُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا كَمَثَلِ الَّذِي يَنْعِقُ بِمَا لاَ يَسْمَعُ إِلاَّ دُعَاء ً وَنِدَاء ً صُمّ ٌ بُكْمٌ عُمْي ٌ فَهُمْ لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ
Wa Mathalu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Kamathali Al-Ladhī Yan`iqu Bimā Lā Yasma`u 'Illā Du`ā'an Wa Nidā'an Şummun Bukmun `Umyun Fahum Lā Ya`qilūna
And the example of those who disbelieve is like one who repeats what he has heard of calls and cries; deaf, dumb, and blind, they do not comprehend.
6:50
قُلْ لاَ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِي خَزَائِنُ اللَّهِ وَلاَ أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ وَلاَ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ إِنِّي مَلَك ٌ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلاَّ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيَّ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الأَعْمَى وَالْبَصِيرُ أَفَلاَ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ
Qul Lā 'Aqūlu Lakum `Indī Khazā'inu Allāhi Wa Lā 'A`lamu Al-Ghayba Wa Lā 'Aqūlu Lakum 'Innī Malakun 'In 'Attabi`u 'Illā Mā Yūĥá 'Ilayya Qul Hal Yastawī Al-'A`má Wa Al-Başīru 'Afalā Tatafakkarūna
Say: "I do not say to you that I possess the treasures of God, nor do I know the future, nor do I say to you that I am an angel. I merely follow what is inspired to me." Say: "Are the blind and the seer the same? Do you not think?"
10:43
وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْكَ أَفَأَنْتَ تَهْدِي الْعُمْيَ وَلَوْ كَانُوا لاَ يُبْصِرُونَ
Wa Minhum Man Yanžuru 'Ilayka 'Afa'anta Tahdī Al-`Umya Wa Law Kānū Lā Yubşirūna
And there are some of them who look at you; but can you guide the blind, if they do not see?
11:24
مَثَلُ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ كَالأَعْمَى وَالأَصَمِّ وَالْبَصِيرِ وَالسَّمِيعِ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلاً أَفَلاَ تَذَكَّرُونَ
Mathalu Al-Farīqayni Kāl'a`má Wa Al-'Aşammi Wa Al-Başīri Wa As-Samī`i Hal Yastawiyāni Mathalāan 'Afalā Tadhakkarūna
The example of the two groups is like the blind and deaf, and the seer and hearer. Are they the same when compared? Do you not take heed?
13:16
قُلْ مَنْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ قُلِ اللَّهُ قُلْ أَفَاتَّخَذْتُمْ مِنْ دُونِهِ~ِ أَوْلِيَاءَ لاَ يَمْلِكُونَ لِأنفُسِهِمْ نَفْعا ً وَلاَ ضَرّا ً قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الأَعْمَى وَالْبَصِيرُ أَمْ هَلْ تَسْتَوِي الظُّلُمَاتُ وَالنُّور أَمْ جَعَلُوا لِلَّهِ شُرَكَاءَ خَلَقُوا كَخَلْقِه ِِ فَتَشَابَهَ الْخَلْقُ عَلَيْهِمْ قُلِ اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ وَهُوَ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ
Qul Man Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'ArĐi Quli Allāhu Qul 'Afāttakhadhtum Min Dūnihi 'Awliyā'a Lā Yamlikūna Li'nfusihim Naf`āan Wa Lā Đarrāan Qul Hal Yastawī Al-'A`má Wa Al-Başīru 'Am Hal Tastawī Až-žulumātu Wa An-Nūr 'Am Ja`alū Lillāhi Shurakā'a Khalaqū Kakhalqihi Fatashābaha Al-Khalqu `Alayhim Quli Allāhu Khāliqu Kulli Shay'in Wa Huwa Al-Wāĥidu Al-Qahhāru
Say: "Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?" Say: "God." Say: "Have you taken besides Him allies who do not possess for themselves any benefit or harm?" Say: "Is the blind and the seer the same? Or do the darkness and the light equate? Or have they set up partners with God who have created like His creation, so the creations all seemed the same to them?" Say: "God has created all things, and He is the One, the Supreme."
13:19
أَفَمَنْ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ الْحَقُّ كَمَنْ هُوَ أَعْمَى إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُوْلُوا الأَلْبَابِ
'Afaman Ya`lamu 'Annamā 'Unzila 'Ilayka Min Rabbika Al-Ĥaqqu Kaman Huwa 'A`má 'Innamā Yatadhakkaru 'Ūlū Al-'Albābi
Is he who knows that the truth has been sent down to you from your Lord like he who is blind? Only those who possess intelligence will remember.
17:72
وَمَنْ كَانَ فِي هَذِهِ~ِ أَعْمَى فَهُوَ فِي الآخِرَةِ أَعْمَى وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلا ً
Wa Man Kāna Fī Hadhihi 'A`má Fahuwa Fī Al-'Ākhirati 'A`má Wa 'AĐallu Sabīlāan
And whoever is blind in this, then he will be blind in the Hereafter and more astray from the path.
17:72
وَمَنْ كَانَ فِي هَذِهِ~ِ أَعْمَى فَهُوَ فِي الآخِرَةِ أَعْمَى وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلا ً
Wa Man Kāna Fī Hadhihi 'A`má Fahuwa Fī Al-'Ākhirati 'A`má Wa 'AĐallu Sabīlāan
And whoever is blind in this, then he will be blind in the Hereafter and more astray from the path.
17:97
وَمَنْ يَهْدِ اللَّهُ فَهُوَ الْمُهْتَدِ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَنْ تَجِدَ لَهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِه ِِ وَنَحْشُرُهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى وَجُوهِهِمْ عُمْيا ً وَبُكْما ً وَصُمّا ً مَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ كُلَّمَا خَبَتْ زِدْنَاهُمْ سَعِيرا ً
Wa Man Yahdi Allāhu Fahuwa Al-Muhtadi Wa Man YuĐlil Falan Tajida Lahum 'Awliyā'a Min Dūnihi Wa Naĥshuruhum Yawma Al-Qiyāmati `Alá Wajūhihim `Umyāan Wa Bukmāan Wa Şummāan Ma'wāhum Jahannamu Kullamā Khabat Zidnāhum Sa`īrāan
Whoever God guides is the truly guided one. And whoever He misguides then you will not find for them any allies except for Him. And We gather them on the Day of Resurrection on their faces, blind, mute, and deaf; their abode will be Hell. Every time it dies down, We increase for them the fire.
20:124
وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَه ُُ مَعِيشَة ً ضَنكا ً وَنَحْشُرُه ُُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَى
Wa Man 'A`raĐa `An Dhikrī Fa'inna Lahu Ma`īshatan Đankāan Wa Naĥshuruhu Yawma Al-Qiyāmati 'A`má
"And whoever turns away from My remembrance, then he will have a miserable life, and We will raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection."
20:125
قَالَ رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرْتَنِي أَعْمَى وَقَدْ كُنتُ بَصِيرا ً
Qāla Rabbi Lima Ĥashartanī 'A`má Wa Qad Kuntu Başīrāan
He said: "My Lord, you have raised me blind while I used to be able to see?"
24:61
لَيْسَ عَلَى الأَعْمَى حَرَج ٌ وَلاَ عَلَى الأَعْرَجِ حَرَج ٌ وَلاَ عَلَى الْمَرِيضِ حَرَج ٌ وَلاَ عَلَى أَنفُسِكُمْ أَنْ تَأْكُلُوا مِنْ بُيُوتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ آبَائِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ إِخْوَانِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أَخَوَاتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أَعْمَامِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ عَمَّاتِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ أَخْوَالِكُمْ أَوْ بُيُوتِ خَالاَتِكُمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكْتُمْ مَفَاتِحَهُ~ُ أَوْ صَدِيقِكُمْ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَأْكُلُوا جَمِيعاً أَوْ أَشْتَاتا ً فَإِذَا دَخَلْتُمْ بُيُوتا ً فَسَلِّمُوا عَلَى أَنفُسِكُمْ تَحِيَّة ً مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ مُبَارَكَة ً طَيِّبَة ً كَذَلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمُ الآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
Laysa `Alá Al-'A`má Ĥarajun Wa Lā `Alá Al-'A`raji Ĥarajun Wa Lā `Alá Al-MarīĐi Ĥarajun Wa Lā `Alá 'Anfusikum 'An Ta'kulū Min Buyūtikum 'Aw Buyūti 'Ābā'ikum 'Aw Buyūti 'Ummahātikum 'Aw Buyūti 'Ikhwānikum 'Aw Buyūti 'Akhawātikum 'Aw Buyūti 'A`māmikum 'Aw Buyūti `Ammātikum 'Aw Buyūti 'Akhwālikum 'Aw Buyūti Khālātikum 'Aw Mā Malaktum Mafātiĥahu 'Aw Şadīqikum Laysa `Alaykum Junāĥun 'An Ta'kulū Jamī`āan 'Aw 'Ashtātāan Fa'idhā Dakhaltum Buyūtāan Fasallimū `Alá 'Anfusikum Taĥīyatan Min `Indi Allāhi Mubārakatan Ţayyibatan Kadhālika Yubayyinu Allāhu Lakumu Al-'Āyāti La`allakum Ta`qilūna
There is no blame upon the blind, nor is there any blame upon the crippled, nor is there any blame upon the ill, nor is there any blame upon yourselves, if you eat at your homes, or the homes of your fathers, or the homes of your mothers, or the homes of your brothers, or the homes of your sisters, or the homes of your uncles, or the homes of your aunts, or the homes of your mothers brothers, or the homes of your mothers sisters, or that which you possess their keys, or that of your friends. You commit nothing wrong by eating together or as individuals. When you enter any home, you shall greet each other a greeting from God that is blessed and good. God thus explains the revelations for you that you may comprehend.
25:73
وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَمْ يَخِرُّوا عَلَيْهَا صُمّا ً وَعُمْيَانا ً
Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Idhā Dhukkirū Bi'āyāti Rabbihim Lam Yakhirrū `Alayhā Şummāan Wa `Umyānāan
And those who when they are reminded of the revelations of their Lord, they do not fall on them deaf and blind.
27:81
وَمَا أَنْتَ بِهَادِي الْعُمْيِ عَنْ ضَلاَلَتِهِمْ إِنْ تُسْمِعُ إِلاَّ مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِآيَاتِنَا فَهُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ
Wa Mā 'Anta Bihādī Al-`Umyi `An Đalālatihim 'In Tusmi`u 'Illā Man Yu'uminu Bi'āyātinā Fahum Muslimūna
Nor can you guide the blind from their misguidance. You can only make those who believe in Our revelations hear you, for they have submitted.
30:53
وَمَا أَنْتَ بِهَادِي الْعُمْيِ عَنْ ضَلاَلَتِهِمْ إِنْ تُسْمِعُ إِلاَّ مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِآيَاتِنَا فَهُمْ مُسْلِمُون
Wa Mā 'Anta Bihādī Al-`Umyi `An Đalālatihim 'In Tusmi`u 'Illā Man Yu'uminu Bi'āyātinā Fahum Muslimūn
Nor can you enlighten the blind from their straying; but you can only make those who believe in Our revelations listen, for they have submitted.
35:19
وَمَا يَسْتَوِي الأَعْمَى وَالْبَصِيرُ
Wa Mā Yastawī Al-'A`má Wa Al-Başīru
The blind and the seer are not equal.
40:58
وَمَا يَسْتَوِي الأَعْمَى وَالْبَصِيرُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَلاَ الْمُسِيءُ قَلِيلا ً مَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ
Wa Mā Yastawī Al-'A`má Wa Al-Başīru Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Wa Lā Al-Musī'u Qalīlāan Mā Tatadhakkarūna
And not equal are the blind and the seer, nor those who believe and do good works, and those who do evil. Little do you remember.
43:40
أَفَأَنْتَ تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ أَوْ تَهْدِي الْعُمْيَ وَمَنْ كَانَ فِي ضَلاَل ٍ مُبِين ٍ
'Afa'anta Tusmi`u Aş-Şumma 'Aw Tahdī Al-`Umya Wa Man Kāna Fī Đalālin Mubīnin
Can you make the deaf hear, or can you guide the blind and those who are far astray?
48:17
لَيْسَ عَلَى الأَعْمَى حَرَج ٌ وَلاَ عَلَى الأَعْرَجِ حَرَج ٌ وَلاَ عَلَى الْمَرِيضِ حَرَج ٌ وَمَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَه ُُ يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّات ٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّ يُعَذِّبْهُ عَذَاباً أَلِيما ً
Laysa `Alá Al-'A`má Ĥarajun Wa Lā `Alá Al-'A`raji Ĥarajun Wa Lā `Alá Al-MarīĐi Ĥarajun Wa Man Yuţi`i Allāha Wa Rasūlahu Yudkhilhu Jannātin Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-'Anhāru Wa Man Yatawalla Yu`adhdhibhu `Adhābāan 'Alīmāan
There is no burden on the blind, nor is there any burden on the cripple, nor is there any burden on the sick. And whoever obeys God and His messenger, He will admit them into gardens with rivers flowing beneath them; and whoever turns away, He will punish him with a painful retribution.
80:2
أَنْ جَاءَهُ الأَعْمَى
'An Jā'ahu Al-'A`má
When the blind one came to him.

فَكَذَّبُوه ُُ فَأَنجَيْنَاه ُُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَه ُُ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْماً عَمِينَ
Fakadhdhabūhu Fa'anjaynāhu Wa Al-Ladhīna Ma`ahu Fī Al-Fulki Wa 'Aghraqnā Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Bi'āyātinā 'Innahum Kānū Qawmāan `Amīna
They denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship, and We drowned those who denied Our revelations; they were a blind people.
27:66
بَلْ ادَّارَكَ عِلْمُهُمْ فِي الآخِرَةِ بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكّ ٍ مِنْهَا بَلْ هُمْ مِنْهَا عَمُونَ
Bal Addāraka `Ilmuhum Fī Al-'Ākhirati Bal Hum Fī Shakkin Minhā Bal Hum Minhā `Amūna
No, they have no knowledge of the Hereafter. No, they are in doubt regarding it. No, they are blind to it.

قَالَ يَاقَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ كُنتُ عَلَى بَيِّنَة ٍ مِنْ رَبِّي وَآتَانِي رَحْمَة ً مِنْ عِنْدِه ِِ فَعُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَا وَأَنْتُمْ لَهَا كَارِهُونَ
Qāla Yā Qawmi 'Ara'aytum 'In Kuntu `Alá Bayyinatin Min Rabbī Wa 'Ātānī Raĥmatan Min `Indihi Fa`ummiyat `Alaykum 'Anulzimukumūhā Wa 'Antum Lahā Kārihūna
He said: "O my people, do you see that should I be upon a clarity from my Lord, and He has given me a mercy from Himself, that you may be blinded to it? Shall we compel you to it while in-fact you hate it?"

أُوْلَائِكَ الَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ فَأَصَمَّهُمْ وَأَعْمَى أَبْصَارَهُمْ
'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna La`anahumu Allāhu Fa'aşammahum Wa 'A`má 'Abşārahum
These are the ones whom God has cursed and thus He made them deaf and blinded their sight.
