وَمَا كَانَ اسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ~ ِ إِلاَّ عَنْ مَوْعِدَة ٍ وَعَدَهَا إِيَّاه ُُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ~ ُ أَنَّه ُُ عَدُوّ ٌ لِلَّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَأَوَّاه ٌٌ حَلِيم ٌ
Wa Mā Kāna Astighfāru 'Ibrāhīma Li'abīhi 'Illā `An Maw`idatin Wa`adahā 'Īyāhu Falammā Tabayyana Lahu 'Annahu `Adūwun Lillāhi Tabarra'a Minhu 'Inna 'Ibrāhīma La'awwāhun Ĥalīmun
And Abraham seeking forgiveness for his father was only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became clear that he was the enemy of God, he disowned him. Abraham was kind, compassionate.
11:75
إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَحَلِيمٌ أَوَّاه ٌ ٌ مُنِيب ٌ
'Inna 'Ibrāhīma Laĥalīmun 'Awwāhun Munībun
Abraham was compassionate, kind, obedient.
