91:1  By the sun and its daylight

91:2  By the moon when it reflects it

91:3  By the day when it unveils it

91:4  By the night when it covers it

91:5  By the sky and what raised it

91:6  By the earth and what has endlessly spread it.

91:7  By the soul and what balanced it

91:8  And then [what] instilled in it its depravity and its piety

91:9  He indeed has succeeded, the one who has purified it

91:10  While he indeed has failed, the one who has buried it.

91:11  Thamūd denied [the warning] with their unrestrained transgression

91:12  when they sent forth their most wretched.

91:13  For a messenger of Allah had warned them, “A camel of Allah and [she has right to] her fill of water.”

91:14  But they called him a liar and hamstrung her, and for their trespass their Rabb thundered destruction upon them and so levelled it [i.e. the nation of Thamūd].

91:15  And not did he [i.e., the most wretched] fear its aftermath!
