And do they not reflect (by all that they witness in the Messenger and the Revelations coming to him) that there is no madness in their companion (the Prophet Muhammad)? He is but a plain warner
Has it never occurred to them that there is no madness whatever in their fellow-man? He has lived a whole life among you (10:16). He is only a plain Warner
Has it never occurred to them that their companion is not a madman; he is merely a plain Warner
Dr. Munir Munshey
Do they not ponder? Their companion, (Muhammad, SAW) does not have an affliction. Rather, he is (truly and) clearly a warner
Dr. Kamal Omar
Did they not then ponder, there is no undue fanaticism in their companion (i.e., the Prophet goes not beyond limits while he preaches). He is not but an evident warner
Have they not reflected that the Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him), who honours them with (his) companionship, has not contracted any mania? He is only a plain Warner (to the disobedient)
Did they not give thought? There is no madness (mindlessness) in their companion! He is only a clear warner.
Sayyed Abbas Sadr-Ameli
Have they not reflected that there is no madness in their companion(the Prophet of Islam) ? He is naught but a plain warner
Al-muntakhab fi tafsir al-Qur'an al-Karim
Do the infidels not pause to think of their fellow - citizen and countryman* and his disposition, and weigh the matter mentally, give it due weight, and honestly admit that he is not possessed by an evil spirit nor is there a demoniac element in him. He is but a spectacle and a warning who stands manifest of moral and spiritual sublimity
