51:1  By the dispersers, dispersing far and wide

51:2  By the lifters thereupon, [laden with] heavy load

51:3  By the flows therefrom, [flowing] with ease

51:4  By the apportioners thereof, apportioning by command.

51:5  Surely, what you are promised of is indeed true.

51:6  Of certain, Surrender and Reckoning is indeed set to happen.

51:7  By the heavens, intricately woven

51:8  Verily, you are mired in a contradictory doctrine.

51:9  He who is hoodwinked away from it [the True Faith], is being hoodwinked.

51:10  Doomed are the ones who rely on mere conjecture—

51:11  The ones in apathy, in a flood of distractions.

51:12  They ask, “Just when is the Day of Surrender and Reckoning?”

51:13  On a day they will to be on trial over the fire:

51:14  “Taste this your ordeal, that which you sought to hasten.”

51:15  Surely, the God-conscious are to be amidst gardens and springs—

51:16  Eager takers of what their Rabb has given to them. Before that they were selfless doers of good.

51:17  Little of the night did they letup,

51:18  And during the pre-dawn hours they were seeking forgiveness

51:19  And in their wealth was a rightful due for the poor in need, and the deprived.

51:20  There are signs throughout the earth for the ones truly certain

51:21  And [signs, there are] within your own selves. So, will you not see?

51:22  And in the heaven is your sustenance and everything you are being promised

51:23  For by the Rabb of the heavens and the earth, it is the Reality, like the thought you frame and express.

51:24  Has the telling of the noble guests of Abraham come to you?

51:25  When they entered upon him, they said, “[We bear you] Peace.” He said, “Peace, mysterious beings.”

51:26  So, he made his way to his household and came back with a fleshy calf,

51:27  then having set it before them, he said, “Will you not partake?”

51:28  Then [for their reluctance to partake] he sensed a fear from them. They said, “Fear not,” and gave him the tiding of an erudite son.

51:29  And then, his wife approached in loud shock, slapped her face and said, “A barren old woman?”

51:30  They said, “Thus it is,’ your Rabb has said. Surely, HE alone is the all-wise, the ever knowing.”

51:31  He said, “So then what is your stated purpose O Messengers?”

51:32  They said, “We have been sent unto a guidance-flouting people

51:33  That we may bring down upon them stones of clay,

51:34  Kept marked with your Rabb for the prodigal ones.”

51:35  So [for the destruction to come] WE extracted whoever were of the believers therein.

51:36  And then, what were WE to find therein other than one house of ones submitted unto God [i.e., Muslims]?

51:37  And WE left behind therein a sign for the ones who fear the agonizing punishment.

51:38  And in Moses [is a contemplative sign], when WE sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear warrant.

51:39  At which, he turned away with his supportive retinue and said, “A sorcerer is he, or a man possessed!”

51:40  So, WE seized him and his forces and cast them into the sea. And he himself is to blame.

51:41  [And a contemplative sign is] in Aad when WE sent unto them the sterile wind,

51:42  It left nothing of anything it came upon— except it rendered it like decayed rubble.

51:43  [And a contemplative sign is] in Thamūd when it was said to them, “Enjoy yourselves until a time.”

51:44  For they had violently defied the command of their Rabb. So, the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on.

51:45  Thereupon, they were incapable of standing, nor could they help themselves.

51:46  And the people of Noah before them. Verily, they were an iniquitous people.

51:47  And the Heavens— WE built it. By which support! And indeed, WE are [its] expander.

51:48  And the earth, WE have paved it as a floor— how excellent the spreaders!

51:49  And of everything, WE have created complementary pairs, to enable you to mindfully contemplate.

51:50  “So, flee to Allah. Verily, I am a plain warner to you from HIM.

51:51  And do not setup another god alongside Allah. Surely, I am an evident warner to you from HIM.”

51:52  Thus, it was. There came not to the ones before them any messenger, except that they said, “A sorcerer is he, or a man possessed.”

51:53  Have they handed it down to them? Nay! They are an unrestrainedly usurping people.

51:54  So, turn away from them. Not are you to bear any blame.

51:55  And keep reminding—for the Reminder does benefit the believers.

51:56  I have not created the Jinn and humankind, except to serve ME.

51:57  I do not want any sustenance from them and neither do I want that they feed ME.

51:58  Of certain, Allah, HE is the [sole] provider of sustenance, the Owner-Source of all might, the Invincible.

51:59  Surely then, for those who have done wrong is a bucket full [of wrongs to face up to and be held accountable for], like the loaded bucket of their counterparts. So they should not seek to hasten ME.

51:60  So then, woe unto the ones who have disbelieved, from their day, of which they are forewarned.
