45:1  Ha. Meem.

45:2  Revelation of the timeless Book is from Allah, the Almighty, the All-Wise.

45:3  Behold! In the heavens and earth are telling signs for the believers.

45:4  And in your [own] creation and in what HE has dispersed of the creatures, there are signs for a people who pursue certainty.

45:5  And in the contrast of the night and the day, and in the sustenance which Allah has sent down from the sky, by which HE gives life to the earth after its death, and [in the] free inflections of the winds— [in all these] are signs for a people who seek to understand.

45:6  Those there are verses of Allah which WE recite unto you in [expression] of the Reality. So then which discourse will they believe, after Allah and HIS signs?

45:7  Woe unto every sinful habitual liar,

45:8  one who hears the verses of Allah recited to him, then persists in arrogant defiance, as if he did not hear them. So, convey to him tidings of an agonizing punishment.

45:9  And when he learns anything about OUR verses, he takes them as jest. For such is a humbling punishment.

45:10  Jahannam is ahead of them, and not will avail them any bit of what they have earned, nor what they have taken as allies other than Allah. For them is a transcendent punishment.

45:11  This is guidance. The ones who reject the message of their Rabb, for them is a punishment of an agonizing pestilence.

45:12  Allah is HE WHO puts the sea in service to you, so the vessels may plough through it by HIS command, and that you may seek of HIS bounty and to enable you to be grateful.

45:13  And HE has put in service for you whatever is in the heavens and on the earth— all of it is from HIM. Indeed, in all of that are definite signs for a people who reflect.

45:14  Say to those who have embraced Faith that they should forgive those who do not count on the Days of Allah, so that HE may recompense a people for what they were earning.

45:15  Whosoever does right— it is for his own soul and whosoever has engendered ill— it is upon his own soul. Then unto your Rabb are you to be returned.

45:16  WE did give the timeless Book [of Scripture] to the children of Israel, and wisdom and prophethood. And WE provided sustenance for them from the pristine and wholesome things, and WE did grace them above all realms.

45:17  And WE gave them telling proofs from the Command. They did not differ, except after the Knowledge had reached them. Surely, your Sustainer will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection, in all wherein they were differing.

45:18  Thereafter WE put you on an ethical code from the [divine] Command. So, follow it and do not follow the whims of the ones who do not know.

45:19  They for sure will never avail you against Allah in anything. And indeed, the wrongdoers are allies to one another while Allah is the ally of the God-conscious.

45:20  This [Quran bears] insights for humankind, and a guidance and mercy for a people who pursue certainty.

45:21  Or do those who commit their dark deeds figure that WE will make them like those who have believed and have done the right deeds— [and place them] at par with them in their lived lives and in their passing? How badly they judge!

45:22  Allah created the heavens and the earth in [expression of the] Reality, and in order that every soul be repaid by what it earned. And they will not be wronged.

45:23  Have you then considered one who adopts his fancy for his god? Allah leaves him astray, on the basis of a knowledge [he has]. Allah has set a seal on his hearing and his heart and placed a covering on his sight. So, who then can guide him after Allah [allows him to go spiritually deaf and blind]? Do you not mindfully reflect?

45:24  They say, “There is nothing except our life of this world. We are to die, and [for now] we live, and nothing destroys us except time.” Whereas they have not any knowledge about that. They are merely assuming.

45:25  And when OUR verses are recited to them as telling proofs, their argument has been nothing except their saying: “Bring us [back] our forefathers if you are truthful.”

45:26  Say, “Allah gives life to you, and HE gives you death. Then HE will gather you unto the Day of Resurrection, wherein is no doubt, but most of humankind know not.

45:27  To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and on a day the Hour stands in effect— on that day, the purveyors of falsehood will lose out.

45:28  [On that day] you are to see every [religious] set of followers on its knees. Every set of followers will be summoned to their record: “Today you will be requited for what you were doing.

45:29  This record of OURS articulates about you with the truth. Indeed, WE were archiving whatever you were doing.”

45:30  Then, as for those who had embraced Faith and did the right deeds— their Rabb will admit them into HIS mercy. That is the evident attainment.

45:31  And as for the one who had disbelieved: “Was it not that MY verses were recited to you, and you waxed arrogant in reaction? You were a people ever guilty [of flouting Guidance].

45:32  And when it was said, ‘The promise of Allah is true, and the Hour has not any doubt to it.’ You said, ‘We cannot ascertain what the Hour is. We strongly deem that it is nothing except an assumption, and we are not in any way certain”

45:33  The ills ensuing from what they did, reappeared for them and that which they were mocking surrounded them.

45:34  And it was said, “Today WE have disremembered you just as you disremembered this meeting of this day of yours. Your shelter is the fire and there are not any helpers for you.

45:35  That, because you took the signs of Allah in jest, and the earthly life deluded you. So, this day they will not be brought out from it, nor are they to be asked to make amends.

45:36  So [it will be seen and known]: All praise belongs to Allah, the Rabb of the heavens and the Rabb of the earth— the Rabb of all the realms.

45:37  All the majesty and grandness in the heavens and the earth is for HIM. HE is the Almighty, All-Wise.
