41:2
A revelation from the Source of Mercy, the ever merciful.
41:3
A timeless divine book, whose verses have been distinctly ordered— an Arabic Quran for a people who [seek to] know,
41:4
as a bearer of [joyous] divine tidings and as a warner. Even so, most of them have turned away, and so they do not hear.
41:5
And they have said, “Our hearts are in sheaths against what you call us to, and a deafness in our ears, and between us and
you there is a veil. So,
you do [what
you will]. We indeed are busy doing [what we will].”
41:6
Say, “I am only a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is ONE God. So, be properly aligned to
HIM and seek
HIS forgiveness.” And woe to the ones who attribute divine powers to any other than HIM—
41:7
The ones who do not give
Zakat and they are the very disbelievers in the Hereafter.
41:8
Verily, the ones who have embraced Faith and have done the right deeds, for them is an unconditional reward.
41:9
Say, “Do you really reject
HIM who created the earth in two [heavenly] days? And [do] you set up peers with
HIM? That [whose dominion you divide] is the
Rabb of all Realms.
41:10
And
HE placed therein anchored mountains on top of it. And HE poured blessings within it and measured out its life-sustaining supplies in four [heavenly] days, matched to the seekers.
41:11
Furthermore,
HE directed matching attributes at the sky, while it was mere smoke, then said to it and the earth, “Come [into harmony] you both, willingly or unwillingly.” They both said, “We come willingly.”
41:12
Further to that,
HE decreed them to be seven heavens in two [heavenly] days, and revealed to each heaven its undertaking, and
WE adorned the near sky with formations of lamps, and for protection. All that is a precise measuring-out of the Almighty, the Ever Knowing.
41:13
So, if [they persist in their denial and] turn away, say, “I have warned you of a thunderous strike like the thunderous strike of
Aad and
Thamūd:
41:14
When the Messengers approached them from in front of them and from behind them, [admonishing]: “Do not serve any except Allah.” They said, “If our
Rabb had so willed,
HE would have necessarily sent down the angels. We therefore are disbelievers in what you have been sent with.”
41:15
So as for the
Aad —they had waxed arrogant in the land without right, and had said, “Who is more powerful than us?” Did they not see that Allah Who created them was more powerful than them? And they were repudiating
OUR signs!
41:16
So,
WE dispatched upon them a cold howling gale over ominous days, so they could taste the punishment of abasement in the earthly life. While the certain punishment of the Hereafter is more abasing, and they will not be helped.
41:17
As for the
Thamūd—
WE showed them the way, but they preferred blindness over Guidance. So, a thunderous strike of the degrading punishment seized them because of what they were earning.
41:18
And
WE delivered the ones who had embraced Faith and were God-conscious
41:19
And on a day, the opponents of Allah will be brought together to the fire, they will be locked tightly in formations.
41:20
Until, when they arrive at it, their hearing and their sight and their skins will testify against them about what they were doing
41:21
And they will say to their skins, “Why did you testify against us?” They will say, “Allah gave us articulation.
HE is the One Who gives articulation to all things. And
HE is the One Who created you the first time and unto
HIM you are being returned.
41:22
And you were concealing your own selves, not from your ears witnessing against you, nor from your eyes, nor from your skins. But you did assume that Allah knows not much of what you were doing.
41:23
And that— your assumption which you assumed about your
Rabb, brought you down. Thus have you become of the losers.”
41:24
So now, if they show patience [in the Hereafter]— the fire is the dwelling for them. And if they consider redeeming themselves— they are not of the ones to be redeemed.
41:25
WE had assigned to them fellows, who glamorized their present and their future for them. And the sentence already passed on communities from amongst
Jinn and humankind before them, became justified upon them. Surely, they were losers.
41:26
And the ones who have disbelieved have said, “Do not listen to this Recital [Quran] and natter right through it, that you may prevail.”
41:27
So then,
WE will most certainly make the ones who have disbelieved taste a severe punishment, and
WE will most certainly requite them for the worst of what they were doing.
41:28
That is the requital of the opponents of Allah— the fire. For them therein is the eternal home as requital because they were repudiating
OUR verses.
41:29
And the ones who disbelieved will have said, “Our
Rabb, show us the ones, from amongst the
Jinn and humankind, who led us astray.
WE will put them both under our feet, so they may be of the lowest of all.”
41:30
Indeed, the ones who have said, “Allah is our
Rabb,” and then remained steadfastly committed, the angels will stream down upon them: “Do not fear and do not grieve and rejoice in the good news of Paradise which you were promised.”
41:31
“We are your allies in the earthly life and in the Hereafter. For you in the [Hereafter] is whatever your souls desire, and in it for you is whatever you call for—
41:32
As a welcome from [ONE] forgiving, ever merciful.”
41:33
And who is more beautiful of speech than one who calls unto Allah and does right and has said, “I am of those in submission unto God?”
41:34
The truly good act does not stay level, neither does the truly foul act. Push back with that which is better. So [there may come a time] when the one, between you and whom is enmity, [would be] is as if he were an intimate friend.
41:35
But none will be shown it, except the ones who persevere. It is shown to none except ones of great [spiritual] fortune.
41:36
If a [contrary] goading from Satan nags at
you— seek refuge with Allah. Of certain,
HE is the all-hearing, the ever knowing.
41:37
The night and the day, and the sun and the moon, are [merely] among
HIS signs. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon. And do prostrate to Allah
WHO created them, if it is truly
HIM you worship
41:38
So, if they arrogantly defy [they are blinded by earthly delusion]. For those who are in the presence of your Rabb, extol HIS limitless glory by night and day, and they do not balk. ۩
41:39
And of
HIS signs: You see the earth still and desolate— but then when
WE send down upon it that water [which is measured out for it], it stirs and swells. Surely,
HE Who gives it life, is the certain reviver of the dead. Surely, Allah is forever in control of all things and their measure.
41:40
Surely, the ones who induct mistruths in
OUR signs are not unknown to
US. So then, is one who is cast in the fire better, or one who comes in security on the Day of Judgement? Do what you will. Hearken!
HE is ever seeing of what you do.
41:41
Surely, the ones who disbelieve in the Reminder, now that it has come to them, [imperil only their own souls]. Behold, it is indeed a mighty book.
41:42
Falsehood is not to approach it from its present, nor from its future. It is a sending down from One all-wise, ever praiseworthy.
41:43
What is being said to
you is nothing except what was already said to the Messengers before
you. Indeed,
your Rabb is the Owner of forgiveness and the Owner of painful requital.
41:44
If
WE had rendered it as a foreign recital they would have surely said, “Why were its verses not distinctly framed [for its setting]? A non-Arabic [discourse] and an Arabic [setting]?” Say, “It is a guidance and a remedy for those who believe.” Those who do not believe a deafness in their ears and a blindness is upon them. Such are being called from across a distant place.
41:45
WE did give Moses the timeless Book [of Scripture]— differences arose therein. If it were not for a prior word from
your Rabb, the matter between them would have been judged [right then]. Surely, they indeed are in doubtful distrust
of it.
41:46
Whosoever is active doing right— it is for his own soul. Whosoever is active doing ill— it is upon his own soul.
Your Rabb is not in any way an oppressive sovereign to [
HIS] subjects.
41:47
Unto
HIM reverts the knowledge of the Hour. Not do any blossoms emerge from their buds, and not any woman bears a burden, nor delivers, except by
HIS knowledge. And a day
HE calls them out: “Where are
MY partners,” they will say, “We have professed to
YOU, not among us is any witness.”
41:48
What they used to invoke before will have forsaken them, and they will have well concluded that there was not a place for them to escape to.
41:49
Man does not balk from the prayerful ask of the earthly good, and if the earthly ill grazes him— he is hopelessly despondent.
41:50
And if
WE give him a taste of mercy from
US after hardship has grazed him, he is sure to say, “This is owed to me. I do not think the Hour [of accountability] is set to be, yet if I am returned to my
Rabb—there has to be with
HIM, the best [for me].” But [it is set], for
WE will indeed inform the ones who disbelieved of what they were doing, and
WE will surely make them partake an intractable punishment.
41:51
And when
WE bestow favor on man, he is dismissive [of God’s beneficence] and draws back into his own zone. But when ill grazes him— he is full of extensive supplication.
41:52
Say, “Have you considered if it [i.e., the Quran] was truly from Allah, and yet you rejected it? Who can be more lost than one who is in a vast breach?”
41:53
WE shall indeed show them
OUR signs in the horizons and in their own selves, until it becomes categorically clear to them that it is the Truth. Does it not suffice about
your Rabb, that
HE is an ever-present witness over all things?
41:54
Unquestionably, they are in an unsettled doubt about a meeting of their
Rabb. Unquestionably,
HE truly is all-encompassing of all things.
