3:1  Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for any good work,
3:2  to blaspheme no one, to be peaceable, gracious, showing complete gentleness toward all people.
3:3  For once we ourselves also were foolish, disobedient, being led astray, being enslaved by desires and various pleasures, living a life of evil and envy, detestable, hating one another.
3:4  But when the goodness and · loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,
3:5  not because of works of righteousness that we did but according to · his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
3:6  whom he richly poured out for us through Jesus Christ · our Savior,
3:7  so that having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
3:8  Trustworthy is the saying, and I want you to insist emphatically on these things so that those who have believed in God might be intent on devoting themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for people.
3:9  But shun foolish speculations and genealogies and strife and quarrels about the law, for they are harmful and useless.
3:10  Avoid the factious person after a first and second warning,
3:11  knowing that such a person has been warped · and is sinning, being self-condemned.
3:12  When I send Artemas to you or Tychicus, do your best to come to me in Nicopolis, for I have decided to winter there.
3:13  Do your best to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey, so that they lack nothing.
3:14  And let our people learn · · to be devoted to good deeds, specifically the urgent needs, lest they be fruitless.
3:15  All those with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. · Grace be with all of you.
