1:1  In the past · God spoke to our fathers at different times and in various ways through the prophets,
1:2  but in these final · days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom he also created the material universe.
1:3  This Son is the radiance of his glory and the exact representation of his nature, and although sustaining · all there is by the word of his power, yet made purification for sins, and then sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
1:4  having been exalted as far above the angels as the name he inherited is more noble than theirs.
1:5  For to which of the angels did God ever say, “My Son are you! Today I have fathered you”? Or again, “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”?
1:6  And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, · “Let all the angels of God worship him.”
1:7  · Regarding the angels he says, “He makes · his angels winds, and · his ministers a flame of fire.”
1:8  But regarding the Son he says, · “Your throne, O God, is for all time, · and the scepter of absolute justice is the scepter of your kingdom.
1:9  You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore · God, · your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond · your companions.”
1:10  And, “In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands.
1:11  They will perish; but you continue. And all of them like a garment will wear out,
1:12  · like a robe you will fold them up, like a garment they will also be changed. But you are the same, and · your years will never end.”
1:13  And to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make · your enemies a footstool for your feet”?
1:14  Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
