يَكَادُ الْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ كُلَّمَا أَضَاءَ لَهُمْ مَشَوْا فِيه ِِ وَإِذَا أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُوا وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ قَدِير ٌ
Yakādu Al-Barqu Yakhţafu 'Abşārahum Kullamā 'AĐā'a Lahum Mashaw Fīhi Wa 'Idhā 'Ažlama `Alayhim Qāmū Wa Law Shā'a Allāhu Ladhahaba Bisam`ihim Wa 'Abşārihim 'Inna Allāha `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun

The lightning nearly snatches their sight, whenever it lights the path they walk in it, and when it becomes dark for them they stand. Had God willed, He would have taken their hearing and their sight; God is capable of all things.

أَوَمَنْ كَانَ مَيْتا ً فَأَحْيَيْنَاه ُُ وَجَعَلْنَا لَه ُُ نُورا ً يَمْشِي بِه ِِ فِي النَّاسِ كَمَنْ مَثَلُه ُُ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ لَيْسَ بِخَارِج ٍ مِنْهَا كَذَلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
'Awaman Kāna Maytāan Fa'aĥyaynāhu Wa Ja`alnā Lahu Nūrāan Yamshī Bihi Fī An-Nāsi Kaman Mathaluhu Fī Až-žulumāti Laysa Bikhārijin Minhā Kadhālika Zuyyina Lilkāfirīna Mā Kānū Ya`malūna

Is he who was dead and to whom We gave life, and We made for him a light to walk with among the people, as he whose example is in darkness and he will not exit from it? It is such that the work of the rejecters has been adorned for them.

7:195
أَلَهُمْ أَرْجُل ٌ يَمْشُونَ بِهَا أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْد ٍ يَبْطِشُونَ بِهَا أَمْ لَهُمْ أَعْيُن ٌ يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا أَمْ لَهُمْ آذَان ٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا قُلِ ادْعُوا شُرَكَاءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلاَ تُنظِرُونِ
'Alahum 'Arjulun Yamshūna Bihā 'Am Lahum 'Aydin Yabţishūna Bihā 'Am Lahum 'A`yunun Yubşirūna Bihā 'Am Lahum 'Ādhānun Yasma`ūna Bihā Quli Ad`ū Shurakā'akum Thumma Kīdūni Falā Tunžirūni

Do they have feet with which to walk? Or, do they have hands with which to strike? Or, do they have eyes with which to see? Or, do they have ears with which to hear? Say: "Call on your partners, then plan against me. You will not be given respite."

17:37
وَلاَ تَمْشِ فِي الأَرْضِ مَرَحا ً إِنَّكَ لَنْ تَخْرِقَ الأَرْضَ وَلَنْ تَبْلُغَ الْجِبَالَ طُولا ً
Wa Lā Tamshi Fī Al-'ArĐi Maraĥāan 'Innaka Lan Takhriqa Al-'ArĐa Wa Lan Tablugha Al-Jibāla Ţūlāan

And do not walk in the land arrogantly, for you will not penetrate the earth, nor will you reach the mountains in height.

17:95
قُلْ لَوْ كَانَ فِي الأَرْضِ مَلاَئِكَة ٌ يَمْشُونَ مُطْمَئِنِّينَ لَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَلَكا ً رَسُولا ً
Qul Law Kāna Fī Al-'ArĐi Malā'ikatun Yamshūna Muţma'innīna Lanazzalnā `Alayhim Mina As-Samā'i Malakāan Rasūlāan

Say: "If the earth had angels walking about in security, We would have sent down to them from the heaven an angel as a messenger."

20:40
إِذْ تَمْشِي أُخْتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَنْ يَكْفُلُه ُُ فَرَجَعْنَاكَ إِلَى أُمِّكَ كَيْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلاَ تَحْزَنَ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسا ً فَنَجَّيْنَاكَ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّاكَ فُتُونا ً فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِينَ فِي أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلَى قَدَر ٍ يَامُوسَى
'Idh Tamshī 'Ukhtuka Fataqūlu Hal 'Adullukum `Alá Man Yakfuluhu Faraja`nāka 'Ilá 'Ummika Kay Taqarra `Aynuhā Wa Lā Taĥzana Wa Qatalta Nafsāan Fanajjaynāka Mina Al-Ghammi Wa Fatannāka Futūnāan Falabithta Sinīna Fī 'Ahli Madyana Thumma Ji'ta `Alá Qadarin Yā Mūsá

"That your sister should follow, and say: 'Shall I guide you to a person who will nurse him.' Thus We returned you to your mother, so that she may be pleased and not be sad. And you killed a person, but We saved you from harm and We tested you greatly. So it was that you stayed with the people of Midyan for many years, then you came here by fate O Moses."

20:128
أَفَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِي مَسَاكِنِهِمْ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَات ٍ لِأوْلِي النُّهَى
'Afalam Yahdi Lahum Kam 'Ahlaknā Qablahum Mina Al-Qurūni Yamshūna Fī Masākinihim 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Li'wlī An-Nuhá

Is it not a guide to them how many generations We had destroyed before them, which they are walking now in their homes? In that are signs for the people of understanding.

24:45
وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَ كُلَّ دَابَّة ٍ مِنْ مَاء ٍ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى بَطْنِه ِِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى رِجْلَيْنِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى أَرْبَع ٍ يَخْلُقُ اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ قَدِير ٌ
Wa Allāhu Khalaqa Kulla Dābbatin Min Mā'in Faminhum Man Yamshī `Alá Baţnihi Wa Minhum Man Yamshī `Alá Rijlayni Wa Minhum Man Yamshī `Alá 'Arba`in Yakhluqu Allāhu Mā Yashā'u 'Inna Allāha `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun

And God created every moving creature from water. So some of them move on their bellies, and some walk on two legs, and some walk on four. God creates whatever He wills. God is capable of all things.

24:45
وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَ كُلَّ دَابَّة ٍ مِنْ مَاء ٍ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى بَطْنِه ِِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى رِجْلَيْنِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَمْشِي عَلَى أَرْبَع ٍ يَخْلُقُ اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء ٍ قَدِير ٌ

24:45

25:7
وَقَالُوا مَالِ هَذَا الرَّسُولِ يَأْكُلُ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشِي فِي الأَسْوَاقِ لَوْلاَ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلَك ٌ فَيَكُونَ مَعَه ُُ نَذِيرا ً
Wa Qālū Māli Hādhā Ar-Rasūli Ya'kulu Aţ-Ţa`āma Wa Yamshī Fī Al-'Aswāqi Lawlā 'Unzila 'Ilayhi Malakun Fayakūna Ma`ahu Nadhīrāan

And they said: "What is with this messenger that he eats the food and walks in the market places? If only an angel were sent down to him so that he would jointly be a warner."

25:20
وَما أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلاَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَيَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشُونَ فِي الأَسْوَاقِ وَجَعَلْنَا بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْض ٍ فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ بَصِيرا ً
Wa Mā 'Arsalnā Qablaka Mina Al-Mursalīna 'Illā 'Innahum Laya'kulūna Aţ-Ţa`āma Wa Yamshūna Fī Al-'Aswāqi Wa Ja`alnā Ba`Đakum Liba`Đin Fitnatan 'Ataşbirūna Wa Kāna Rabbuka Başīrāan

And We have not sent before you any messengers except that they ate the food and walked in the market places. And We have made some of you as a test for others to see if you will have patience. And your Lord was ever seeing.

25:63
وَعِبَادُ الرَّحْمَنِ الَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى الأَرْضِ هَوْنا ً وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ الْجَاهِلُونَ قَالُوا سَلاَما ً
Wa `Ibādu Ar-Raĥmāni Al-Ladhīna Yamshūna `Alá Al-'ArĐi Hawnāan Wa 'Idhā Khāţabahumu Al-Jāhilūna Qālū Salāmāan

And the servants of the Almighty who walk on the earth in humility and if the ignorant speak to them, they say: "Peace."

28:25
فَجَاءَتْهُ إِحْدَاهُمَا تَمْشِي عَلَى اسْتِحْيَاء ٍ قَالَتْ إِنَّ أَبِي يَدْعُوكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ أَجْرَ مَا سَقَيْتَ لَنَا فَلَمَّا جَاءَه ُُ وَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ الْقَصَصَ قَالَ لاَ تَخَفْ نَجَوْتَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Fajā'at/hu 'Iĥdāhumā Tamshī `Alá Astiĥyā'in Qālat 'Inna 'Abī Yad`ūka Liyajziyaka 'Ajra Mā Saqayta Lanā Falammā Jā'ahu Wa Qaşşa `Alayhi Al-Qaşaşa Qāla Lā Takhaf Najawta Mina Al-Qawmi Až-žālimīna

So one of the two women approached him, shyly, and said: "My father invites you to reward you for watering for us." So when he came to him, and told to him the stories, he said: "Do not fear, for you have been saved from the wicked people."

31:18
وَلاَ تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلاَ تَمْشِ فِي الأَرْضِ مَرَحا ً إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَال ٍ فَخُور ٍ
Wa Lā Tuşa``ir Khaddaka Lilnnāsi Wa Lā Tamshi Fī Al-'ArĐi Maraĥāan 'Inna Allāha Lā Yuĥibbu Kulla Mukhtālin Fakhūrin

And do not turn your cheek arrogantly from people, nor shall you roam the earth insolently. For Goddoes not love the arrogant show off.

32:26
أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِي مَسَاكِنِهِمْ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ أَفَلاَ يَسْمَعُونَ
'Awalam Yahdi Lahum Kam 'Ahlaknā Min Qablihim Mina Al-Qurūni Yamshūna Fī Masākinihim 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin 'Afalā Yasma`ūna

Is it not a guide for them how many generations We have annihilated before them in whose dwellings they walk? In that are signs. Do they not listen?

57:28
يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَآمِنُوا بِرَسُولِه ِِ يُؤْتِكُمْ كِفْلَيْنِ مِنْ رَحْمَتِه ِِ وَيَجْعَلْ لَكُمْ نُورا ً تَمْشُونَ بِه ِِ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ غَفُور ٌ رَحِيم ٌ
Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Attaqū Allāha Wa 'Āminū Birasūlihi Yu'utikum Kiflayni Min Raĥmatihi Wa Yaj`al Lakum Nūrāan Tamshūna Bihi Wa Yaghfir Lakum Wa Allāhu Ghafūrun Raĥīmun

O you who believe, you shall reverence God and believe in His messenger. He will then grant you double the reward from His mercy, and He will make for you a light by which you shall walk, and He will forgive you. And God is Forgiving, Merciful.

67:22
أَفَمَنْ يَمْشِي مُكِبّاً عَلَى وَجْهِهِ~ِ أَهْدَى أَمَّنْ يَمْشِي سَوِيّاً عَلَى صِرَاط ٍ مُسْتَقِيم ٍ
'Afaman Yamshī Mukibbāan `Alá Wajhihi 'Ahdá 'Amman Yamshī Sawīyāan `Alá Şirāţin Mustaqīmin

Is one who walks while his face is slumped better guided, or one who walks straight on the right path?

67:22
أَفَمَنْ يَمْشِي مُكِبّاً عَلَى وَجْهِهِ~ِ أَهْدَى أَمَّنْ يَمْشِي سَوِيّاً عَلَى صِرَاط ٍ مُسْتَقِيم ٍ
'Afaman Yamshī Mukibbāan `Alá Wajhihi 'Ahdá 'Amman Yamshī Sawīyāan `Alá Şirāţin Mustaqīmin

Is one who walks while his face is slumped better guided, or one who walks straight on the right path?

38:6
وَانطَلَقَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَى آلِهَتِكُمْ إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْء ٌ يُرَادُ
Wa Anţalaqa Al-Mala'u Minhum 'Ani Amshū Wa Aşbirū `Alá 'Ālihatikum 'Inna Hādhā Lashay'un Yurādu

And the leaders among them went out: "Walk away, and remain patient to your gods. This thing can be turned back."

67:15
هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الأَرْضَ ذَلُولا ً فَامْشُوا فِي مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا مِنْ رِزْقِه ِِ وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Huwa Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakumu Al-'ArĐa Dhalūlāan Fāmshū Fī Manākibihā Wa Kulū Min Rizqihi Wa 'Ilayhi An-Nushūru

He is the One who made the earth subservient for you. So roam its paths, and eat from His provisions; and to Him is the final summoning.

وَاقْصِدْ فِي مَشْيِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِنْ صَوْتِكَ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ الأَصْوَاتِ لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِيرِ
Wāqşid Fī Mashyika Wa AghĐuĐ Min Şawtika 'Inna 'Ankara Al-'Aşwāti Laşawtu Al-Ĥamīri

And be humble in how you walk and lower your voice. For the harshest of all voices is the voice of the donkeys.
