فَلَمَّا فَصَلَ طَالُوتُ بِالْجُنُودِ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مُبْتَلِيكُمْ بِنَهَر ٍ فَمَنْ شَرِبَ مِنْهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي وَمَنْ لَمْ يَطْعَمْهُ فَإِنَّه ُُ مِنِّي إِلاَّ مَنِ اغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَة ً بِيَدِه ِِ فَشَرِبُوا مِنْهُ إِلاَّ قَلِيلا ً مِنْهُمْ فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَه ُُ هُوَ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَه ُُ قَالُوا لاَ طَاقَةَ لَنَا الْيَوْمَ بِجَالُوتَ وَجُنُودِه ِِ قَالَ الَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُمْ مُلاَقُو اللَّهِ كَمْ مِنْ فِئَة ٍ قَلِيلَةٍ غَلَبَتْ فِئَة ً كَثِيرَة ً بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ
Falammā Faşala Ţālūtu Bil-Junūdi Qāla 'Inna Allāha Mubtalīkum Binaharin Faman Shariba Minhu Falaysa Minnī Wa Man Lam Yaţ`amhu Fa'innahu Minnī 'Illā Mani Aghtarafa Ghurfatan Biyadihi Fasharibū Minhu 'Illā Qalīlāan Minhum Falammā Jāwazahu Huwa Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Ma`ahu Qālū Lā Ţāqata Lanā Al-Yawma Bijālūta Wa Junūdihi Qāla Al-Ladhīna Yažunnūna 'Annahum Mulāqū Allāhi Kam Min Fi'atin Qalīlatin Ghalabat Fi'atan Kathīratan Bi'idhni Allāhi Wa Allāhu Ma`a Aş-Şābirīna

So when Saul set out with the soldiers, he said: "God will test you with a river, whoever drinks from it is not with me, and whoever does not taste from it except one scoop with his hand is with me." They all drank from it, except for a few of them. So when he and those who believed with him crossed it, they said: "We have no power today against Goliath and his soldiers!" But the ones who understood that they would meet God said: "How many a time has a small group beaten a large group with the permission of God, and God is with the patient ones!"

7:138
وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْبَحْرَ فَأَتَوْا عَلَى قَوْم ٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَى أَصْنَام ٍ لَهُمْ قَالُوا يَامُوسَى اجْعَل لَنَا إِلَها ً كَمَا لَهُمْ آلِهَة ٌ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْم ٌ تَجْهَلُونَ
Wa Jāwaznā Bibanī 'Isrā'īla Al-Baĥra Fa'ataw `Alá Qawmin Ya`kufūna `Alá 'Aşnāmin Lahum Qālū Yā Mūsá Aj`al Lanā 'Ilahāan Kamā Lahum 'Ālihatun Qāla 'Innakum Qawmun Tajhalūna

And We let the Children of Israel cross the sea, then they came upon a people who were devoted to statues made for them; they said: "O Moses, make for us a god like they have gods?" He said: "You are an ignorant people!"

10:90
وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْبَحْرَ فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ وَجُنُودُه ُُ بَغْيا ً وَعَدْواً حَتَّى إِذَا أَدْرَكَهُ الْغَرَقُ قَالَ آمَنْتُ أَنَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ الَّذِي آمَنَتْ بِه ِِ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ وَأَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
Wa Jāwaznā Bibanī 'Isrā'īla Al-Baĥra Fa'atba`ahum Fir`awnu Wa Junūduhu Baghyāan Wa`adwan Ĥattá 'Idhā 'Adrakahu Al-Gharaqu Qāla 'Āmantu 'Annahu Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Al-Ladhī 'Āmanat Bihi Banū 'Isrā'īla Wa 'Anā Mina Al-Muslimīna

And We helped the Children of Israel cross the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers followed them out of hatred and animosity. But when he was certain to drown, he said: "I believe that there is no god except the One in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of those who have submitted."

18:62
فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَا قَالَ لِفَتَاهُ آتِنَا غَدَاءَنَا لَقَدْ لَقِينَا مِنْ سَفَرِنَا هَذَا نَصَبا ً
Falammā Jāwazā Qāla Lifatāhu 'Ātinā Ghadā'anā Laqad Laqīnā Min Safarinā Hādhā Naşabāan

And when they passed further on, he said to his youth: "Bring us our lunch; we have found much fatigue in this journey of ours."

46:16
أُوْلَائِكَ الَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا وَنَتَجاوَزُ عَنْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ فِي أَصْحَابِ الْجَنَّةِ وَعْدَ الصِّدْقِ الَّذِي كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ
'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Nataqabbalu `Anhum 'Aĥsana Mā `Amilū Wa Natajāwazu `An Sayyi'ātihim Fī 'Aşĥābi Al-Jannati Wa`da Aş-Şidqi Al-Ladhī Kānū Yū`adūna

It is from these that We accept the best of their deeds, and We shall overlook their sins, among the dwellers of the Paradise. This is the promise of truth that they had been promised.
