To withhold, make a camel lie down, stop, restrain, prevent. To prevent/hinder/impede/withhold/restrain/debar a person or thing, to conceal, to intervene, to make or form a separation/partition/fence/barrier, make an obstacle or obstruction between two people, to separate or part two people or two things, wrap or tie a thing around one's waist, defend oneself with a thing.

أَمَّنْ جَعَلَ الأَرْضَ قَرَارا ً وَجَعَلَ خِلاَلَهَا أَنْهَارا ً وَجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ حَاجِزاً أَءِلَه ٌ ٌ مَعَ اللَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ
'Amman Ja`ala Al-'ArĐa Qarārāan Wa Ja`ala Khilālahā 'Anhārāan Wa Ja`ala Lahā Rawāsiya Wa Ja`ala Bayna Al-Baĥrayni Ĥājizāan 'A'ilahun Ma`a Allāhi Bal 'Aktharuhum Lā Ya`lamūna
The One who made the earth a habitat, and He made in it rivers and He made for it stabilizers, and He made between the two seas a barrier. Is there a god with God? No. But most of them do not know.
69:47
فَمَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ
Famā Minkum Min 'Aĥadin `Anhu Ĥājizīna
None of you would be able to prevent it.
