83:1  Woe betide the defrauders
83:2  Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from the people, they demand it full,
83:3  And when they have to give by measure or weight (to the people), they give less than its due.
83:4  Do they not know that they will be resurrected (for reckoning)
83:5  On a Great Day?
83:6  The day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of all the beings.
83:7  No indeed! The record of deeds of the impious from among the defrauders is certainly in Sijjeen- (in Hades or the lower world).
83:8  And what will make you know exactly what Sijjeen is?
83:9  It is a written book.
83:10  Woe on that day betide those who are spiritually blind-
83:11  Who persist in denying the Day of Judgment.
83:12  None will venture to deny it except for every sinful transgressor.
83:13  Whenever the Qur'ānic Verses are recited to him, he says: “Myths of the ancient world."
83:14  No indeed! In fact, their hearts have been tarnished by that which they were inclined to commit!
83:15  No indeed! From (the Mercy of their) Lord, that day, they will surely be banned.
83:16  Then indeed, they will burn in the Hellfire.
83:17  And then be told: "This is the torment of the Fire that you were inclined to deny."
83:18  No indeed! The record of deeds of the Pure in Heart is in Illiyin (a highly exalted place in the seventh heaven).
83:19  And what will make you know exactly what Illiyin is?
83:20  It is a written book,
83:21  Witnessed by those who are brought near (to the Lord).
83:22  Indeed, those who are Pure in Heart will be in eternal bliss,
83:23  On adorned couches, gazing around.
83:24  You will perceive in their faces the glow of delight.
83:25  They will be given to drink of sealed, brilliant wine
83:26  Whose seal emanates from it the scent of musk. So let whoever is eager to taste this strive diligently.
83:27  With it will be given a mixture of Tasnîm:
83:28  A fountain from which those who nearest to Allâh will drink.
83:29  Surely the Ungodly Sinners used to laugh at the ones who live by Faith.
83:30  And when they passed by them, they winked at one another in derision.
83:31  When they returned to their families, they would return exultantly;
83:32  And when they saw them, they would say: "Indeed, theses are the ones who have gone astray.”
83:33  Yet We have not appointed them to watch over them.
83:34  But on that day, those who live by Faith will be laughing at the Ungodly Sinners.
83:35  (They are) on adorned couches, gazing around.
83:36  Surely those who are spiritually dead and blind are requited for what they used to do?
